Matt Brown tells how Pokerface got stuck in his head during a fight

As Matt Brown prepares for his UFC 189 fight against Tim Means, the No. 5-ranked welterweight tells a funny story on this week's "Great MMA Debate" podcast, where he reveals the time he was singing a Lady Gaga song in his head during a fight.

It happened at UFC 111 in 2010 as Brown was facing Ricardo Almeida on the prelims ahead of the main card in New Jersey.

With time running out in the broadcast, neither Brown nor Almeida received an entrance, and instead both fighters were rushed to the Octagon to get the fight started as quickly as possible.

"I remember on one of the Spike cards I had to actually walk out, it was when I fought (Ricardo) Almeida, me and him walked out at the same time like back-to-back. He was 10 feet in front of me walking to the cage," Brown said.

While Brown didn't get his own walkout song, the arena music was still blaring as he trotted to the Octagon -- and no matter how much he disliked the song, the Ohio native found himself singing it in his own head minutes later while grappling with Almeida against the cage wall.

"Neither one of us got a walkout song, and it was the worst f*****g thing to ever happen in my life in a fight. Neither one of us got a walkout song, so they're playing house music and they were playing the f******g 'Poker Face' song by Lady Gaga," Brown explained.

"You can't deny it's the catchiest f*****g worst song in the history of music. So during the fight that song was in my head. It was somewhat of a boring fight because Almeida just kept trying to hold me against the fence. And I remember at one point he couldn't take me down, he's holding me against the fence, and I got bored and my arms kind of relaxed a little bit, and I was like 'p-p-p-poker face,' and I was like, 'I've got to get out of here!'"

As hilarious as it is to hear Brown was singing a Lady Gaga song midfight, he actually used the experience as a learning tool for future fights to make sure he's never taken out of his game when things don't go as expected before getting into the Octagon.

"I learned from that experience, too," Brown said. "You've got to teach yourself how to not be distracted like that."

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Why are some of you pressed because he didn't liked the song? I didn't like it till like a year ago either.

And where are those homophobic coments come from? Just because he doesn't like a Gaga song it doesn't mean he's homophobic. Explain yourselves please.

Can I vanish into a cheeseburger pizza?
