The singer requested the strange favour while sharing a dressing room with her two fellow musicians at the Grammy Awards. After performing at the iHeartRadio listening party for her latest album Prism, Perry answered a fan's question about what she keeps in her bag by saying a "big empty purse". She then launched into the anecdote, continuing: "One of the first times I went to the Grammys, I got to share a dressing room with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, and I asked them for a lock of hair from each of them, which is totally creepy, but awesome."
