She wasn't really disliked by many during The Fame days. There were some who disliked her sure but they weren't what I'd call haters and definitely nothing compared to the haters she has now. Anyway even if it doesn't apply and my case was a bit misguided I still believe it's the media that ultimately determines the overall reaction of the populace.

While the media can influence the reaction and opinions of the mass, you have to realize that the mass influences the reaction and opinions of the media.

All the media does is try to sell BY giving what the mass wants.

And also essentially the media is apart of the mass.

I do agree that Beyonce is a brand. The girl is incredibly narcissistic and a control freak. She really does only allow you to see her in the way she wants you to see her. She's never even been that open. Even her diaries and documentaries seem rather contrived.

While Beyonce is incredibly talented, and has an talented team behind her, she also has the ability to basically sensationalize herself making herself seem more amazing than she may actually be.

I praise Beyonce too like most people, but to be honest I've never been able to really connect to her nor her music on  a very deep emotional level.

With Gaga. I was just thinking earlier today, the mysteriousness of Gaga in her early days benefited her so well. It seems the more open and open she guess, the more the mass dislikes her. ..idk just a thought

a lot of it is that she doesn't do interviews often. so she's able to retain the image people have built up of her over the years, which is a confident, fearless, talented woman.

True, and she is pretty, polite and sweet when we do hear from her.
The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Google beautiful Queen Bey without make up, you would not recognize her in the crowd. She is the one whos got great make up artists and people who make sure she is dressed well. I personally dont think she is prettier than Rihanna or young Britney, these had the natural beauty, interesting face (but its down to personal taste). I do agree about her voice, peformance skills and overal perfectionism. I still prefer Gaga though, Beyonce comes across like - I am the goddes, look up to me, I am so perfect, whereas Gaga is more ´ I am one of you, I want to share everything with you´ may be more flawed but by heart more relatable to me. Also  Gaga is more of a musician, rockstar like. Bey live act has everything carefully planned out, hardly does anothing out of concept.

She's arguably the best vocalist we have in music today, she's beautiful (although that's not a valid reason), she can dance and basically have a seizure on stage and still sound better than her counterparts without even trying. She makes great music and she's a hard worker. That's just a few reasons why people love her so much.

I really don't get how some say she's narcissistic. She's confident and that's what she's all about: making women (even men!) feel good about themselves. What's not better than having someone like her telling you "no matter what, you're beautiful on the outside and most importantly on the inside and if you think you've got it, you better own it and feel good?" Plus her onstage persona gives her an edge. Hell, if I was Beyoncé, I would be cocky as ever. I never got narcissistic vibes from Bey. I honestly find Gaga far more narcissistic/cocky than Bey. Some of you confuse her onstage confidence with narcissism.

Not to mention, she isn't as out there and her music is relatable to many different groups of people. I think a lot of people who are obsessed with singers and are apart of fan bases were left a little bitter especially after her latest album stunt. It was surprising and the album concept trumped pretty much every person's album release. Rightfully so, this album was my favorite of 2013. She deserves all the praise and success and the haters will have to deal until she retires, I guess.

It's okay to dislike her or her music, but if you say she's not talented or doesn't deserved to be liked or have success, then I assume you're just letting your bitterness or love for someone else she outshined get in the way. 15 years into the business, she deserves all of it, and maybe 15 years into Gaga's we can all say the same. She deserves to have the sold out shows and #1 albums. People will be jealous regardless. I don't get the love to hate, not talking about the OP, just the shadiness towards Bey and even Gaga is ridiculous. If you don't like it, move on and love who you love.

But then again... 'Yoncé's all on y'all mouths like liquor, I suppose.  :teehee:

After a one-week vacation from the top slot on the Billboard 200 chart, Beyonce is heading back to No. 1.

The diva's self-titled set could sell around 85,000 to 90,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Jan. 12, according to industry forecasters. If it returns to No. 1, it will mark the fourth non-consecutive week atop the list for "Beyonce."

Meanwhile, the current chart champ, the soundtrack to Disney's "Frozen" movie, will probably dip to No. 2 with around 75,000.

The "Frozen" set stormed to No. 1 this past week on the chart, selling 165,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 5, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It bumped "Beyonce" out of the No. 1 position after a three-week reign.

The top 10 of next week's Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
