I remember that happened very near my backyard. I am happy that Beyoncé took care of this, she's a good person.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

I never got why she use it tbh. I just thought it was unnecessary. The song is beautiful though, always right next to Gypsy in my playlist.

Those families have every right to be angry. That is reliving a moment that they will never get over in their lives. I can only imagine the backlash had she used sound-bite from the twin towers explosion.

Edit: I just read the apology portion. A very classy and good explanation of why she use it. Hopefully it makes those families feel a little bit easier.

Can someone tell me at which point the audio was used?

That is the first thing you hear before the song starts.

Whispering

Can someone tell me at which point the audio was used?

The video for “XO†begins with a snip of a NASA official commenting on the disaster shortly after the nation watched wreckage fall from the sky, “Flight controllers here looking very carefully at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction.†The NASA clip of the tragedy is used in the XO video as a metaphor for a troubled relationship.

On January 28, 1986, Challenger exploded 73 seconds after liftoff from the Kennedy Space Center. All 7 astronauts aboard were killed. Family members, which included grandparents, brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, mothers and fathers watched in horror as the shuttle, carrying their beloved family member, exploded in front of their eyes. The nation watched as the explosions happened on TV screens, including those in many classrooms across the country.

The use of this soundbite is both tacky and tasteless.

Considering the entire song itself has nothing to do with tragedy or loss, why did she even use it? It's really tasteless and unnecessary tbh. If XO was like a tragic love long involving loss or something, then you could at least say she's trying to relate them, but in this case, it's not, really don't understand why she picked that clip and I can understand why the astronauts are slightly annoyed.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
