Bellatrix 34,811
I hope she stops wearing fur and leather along with the diet, or else, she's gonna make vegans looking inconsistent. I can't believe peta ****ing praised her when she's worn fur and leather numerous times. He'll even when she did the vegan for a month thing, she wore leather to a vegan restaurant. Then again, PETA itself is morally ****ed up, they praise celebs for not wearing fur but eat meat. So I guess it'd make sense for them to praise people who don't eat animals but wear them. God, I wish PETA would be more consistent. Hopefully the the gp is too dumb to connect the dotsWell, she should stop. She's not a vegan if she doesn't stop wearing fur and leather. Vegetarians can do it, but not vegans since that is more than just what you eat. Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

craig 680
I don't think she doing it out of concern for animals or the planet. It's just a health fad diet for her (which is always popular with celebs). If different food gurus had influenced her, I bet she could easily be on the Paleo diet instead. LoveandMagic 1,731
I'm glad she's trying to be healthy and encouraging others to do the same. I have a few vegan/vegitarian friends and they seem pretty healthy to me. As long as you are getting all the essential nutrients and vitamins your body needs, I really don't care how green or brown your diet is. I only ask that she not develop an attitude that many vegans/vegitarians have (not all, and probably not most, but quite a few) and become a combative or elitist snob toward non-vegans (which I don't think she will). I also think it's smart of her to try to capitalize on it a bit. I hope it's a very good program. We do not eat very healthy here in the US (particularly in the South) so any influential encouragement is 100% OK by me.I'm curious if she may not also recommend a good fitness regime. It doesn't have to be strenuous or meant for weight loss, just something to encourage everyone to become a little more active in their daily routine. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Like...a VAST majority of the vegans/vegetarians I am around and see posting online are actually very pleasant and believe in people making their own choices. I hope the occasional extreme ones aren't putting us all in the same box....Honestly, I see more rudeness from non-vegans when it comes to veganism. I often see them doing the most criticizing, most questioning, and most finger-pointing when the topic of diet gets brought up. They're the first ones to run in and call us dumb, make jokes about eating animals, give us a thousand questions about WHY we made the choice to be veg (usually after they ask us if we are when they notice we don't have meat on our plates), and then try to come up with reasons why our diet is apparently terrible for us before clarifying "Well I could NEVER be vegetarian because ______," as if we were trying to convert them or even gave two ****s about what they ate in the first place.I've literally NEVER seen a vegetarian/vegan sit down and question someone who ordered meat or list off reasons why their food might be bad for them, but I've seen it (and experienced it) the other way around.
