OBEY 57,109
Let someone in, let someone inside : Open up, talk with someone about your feelings, what you are keeping inside of you When Gaga took over the world with her debut album The Fame and she was unstoppable, she seemed FEARLESS. She did NOT really show the world her vulnerability, she did NOT really talked about her feelings, her "star problems" and so on. She did NOT let people much about her, she was more mysterious and a little rebel. With the hip surgery, BTWB cancellation, ARTPOP and the whole Troy/Interscope/Management/Media MESS, Gaga showed more to the whole world what she truly is : she is only a human. She talked about not wanting to sing music anymore, her depression, the media drags against ARTPOP, the management issues, the way people used her and so on. She has fears, struggles, sadness, she lives stuff we all live too. Some people would say letting the whole world in was a mistake : some people now see her as a whining Pop Star and it hurt her image : she is not the "i don't give a ****" Queen like she was before, people now know they can "take her down" Some people would say that it was a good idea : it helps her to get through what she lives and strengthens the link she has with us, her fans.  What do YOU think? Did Gaga do the RIGHT THING by "letting the world INSIDE"?
Aloe 1,199
I think obviously all of us who have insecurities would definitely put a pop star who seems fearless up a pedestal because we envy that characteristic. But that facade can only stay on for so long though, and now she's relatable to so many of us.

moonboywow 3,136
I want fearlessga back. She's still fearless. She never let on that she wasn't scared of anything personally  it was always with her art. She still has that. She's just less robotic now and more like a human.
Benji 20,113
'Letting the world in' was fine, it was just the fact it often came across as overbearing or even a bit put on by some point. I actually love it when she reveals something troubling her because it draws light to the issue among others like her fans and that's an extremely good way to use her platform but (don't crucify me) through-out ARTPOP it got a little tiring. She went from "I was bullied, I suffered, I've been beat down but I stood back up and here I am kicking ass" to "Feel sorry for me and buy my album"I felt like she was expelling a lot of negative energy through-out the ARTPOP era but she kind of shifted a little back to her normal self through-out the tour and from then on.I haven't explained this well but I hope my general point gets across? It's like she let the world in... then she let it beat her instead of her continuing to power on and own it.
LoveandMagic 1,731
Fearless Gaga is great, but I also like that she is a bit more personal and sharing with her fans. I mainly want a Confident-Ga. She can be open and honest and want a special connection with her base, but she should feel more confident with herself now (which I really think has been happening for a while) not to let the bad press get to her. Sometimes it will, that's human nature, but at this point, **** them. I like her approachable as an artist. She's been through rough patches too and can help her fans with her experience. I also like her proud, fierce, and in control. I want her to continue to encourage her fans (and those outside) through positivity and strength. That's the Gaga I want (and the one I think was always there). She's still fearless. She never let on that she wasn't scared of anything personally  it was always with her art. She still has that. She's just less robotic now and more like a human. â  Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
Iwontell 7,312
I think keeping that facade is cool for a while, but then how much can you really relate to someone that pretends to be so invincible? How can you care for someone who doesn't seem care about anything? She's not afraid or less "fierce" now, she is just not hiding her human side anymore...and I think it's great for ppl who are going through hard or confusing times to see their idol going through the same stuff and doing so with dignity and grace (bc with all the **** she has been through she could have gone full on Lindsay). And let's be honest, it's not like she's forcing her intimacy on ppl. You do have to be a fan and keep track of her every move through GGD, IG, twitter, etc., to have this impression that you're inside (since there's always going to be this HUGE chunk of her life that's going to remain private), bc for the normal nothing has changed. On top of all that, I like that I know who she is, what she thinks and what she stands for...there's a lot of these pop stars that shy away from saying anything that might turn a part of the audience against them (even if it concerns an important issue), or that say what's politically correct and then let the ugly stuff come out in private (or sometimes inadvertently through some lyrics)...you never know what their real agenda is and I get that vibe that I can't really trust/support them... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

BeerFear 5,915
I cant remember where but back in 2009 she said something like "at the end of the day when they think they know who Lady Gaga is I want to remind them they dont.". By now i think she opened to the world so much that she has no more secrets. One of the reasons why she was soo on top back then is the constant rumors going on about her. The media made those up because they had no idea what this girl really wants or who she really is. For example I remember  with the penis one she was in every newspapers even here in hungary. These things made the people curious about her, they wanted to know more and more. Im not saying i have any problems but i kinda miss those times. Chromichiga 184
I feel like she had no choice. She needed to tell the world her feelings.  Did that affect GP and such? of course
