AlexanderMagno 10,746
Right now, from what she says today, I don't think the music she wants is the music I want to hear... And even though I want her to be happy, I want her to make innovative, groundbreaking music. She doesn't seem to be concerned about that. So I don't know, it's tricky. To be honest, and I've been thinking like this for almost a year now, I haven't even thought about the new music. Whatever it may be, I'm waiting for it. I'm done discussing what her new album will sound like, I don't even care, I just want it when it's done.
Koreku 2,387
Like other people stated, I'm afraid whatever direction gaga goes in next might not be the ideal sound that many LMs (and the GP) fell in love with. For all we know, she could have a completely different audience 5-10 years from now with the music direction she takes. Whatever she does, I'll be here to listen and I do encourage her to do what she wants. Idk if I'll like it tho You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you. LoveandMagic 1,731
I didn't say she disliked TFM, I said she was unhappy during TFM The "dark" music that she has done probably comes from a place where she was unhappy, and that music is what most fans enjoy the most. By "bops", I meant songs that fans enjoy the most, not necessarily chart dance hits, and that was confusing and that was my fault. And yes, people, even monsters, will agree that it's near flawless, but MANY fans are very unhappy with the fact that she did this album, because it is not what they wanted. During the past months, we have been getting threads complaining about C2C very often. Some went to the extreme and wished Tony his death, which is disgusting, but there are people who like that. My point is that a lot of monsters disliked C2C and were very disappointed with the fact that she did that album It's great that you can appreciate music that you don't necessarily enjoy, but a lot of the other monsters don't think the same way Oh okay. My bad, thanks for clarifying. It's a shame she couldn't fully enjoy that era, it was excellent. I honestly could care less about the desires of "fans" that would wish death threats on Tony. They aren't Little Monsters, they are Little Assholes. I also hate "fair weathered fans" or "fans" that only like her music if it's #1. I've actually seen where one person said that chart positions will change his mind on whether or not he likes a song. That's just sad. As for Cheek to Cheek, no one should have to buy an album they don't like, even if it's to support an artist. I can understand that. But we got four amazing pop albums, great tours, great videos, great eras, etc from Gaga, so I personally was more than content to wait. And I actually wound up liking the era. And yes, I have seen the threads from the same people that are so "tired" of the era that they have to run to every thread about the era and complain ad nauseum. That's on them. I personally don't waste too much of my energy on something I don't care for, I have enough going on in my life. It's one thing to be vocal about disliking something, it's another thing to borderline troll. I can't help them, and neither can Gaga. She's very happy with Cheek to Cheek and it wound up being an excellent career move, not to mention Tony's kindness and friendship have really put her in a better place. I think it's been said that if it weren't for Tony or Cheek to Cheek, she would have taken a huge hiatus from music for awhile. I don't know if that's true, but if it is, that makes the era extra special. It's on them if all they want to do is whine about it. As for just making bops (to appeal to the fans) I think she will. From what I've seen on this site (and elsewhere) she has a diversity of fans (with many different tastes in music), and since Gaga is diverse herself, she will eventually get to most of them. Generally I think her next album will appeal to the fan base. It's just a feeling I have. I also think it will get that public and critical appeal, and since she is working with Redone and seems so happy, I definitely think she is creating the album she is really excited for. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Brooke Hoegan 1,018
if "making the music she likes" means utter collapsing from the relevancy in top40 pop music and falling into complete oblivion of the past superiority for goodI'll take even the silliest bops she could possibly create any day over a jazz-singer career...but that's a complete exaggeration - she can easily make classy songs that are "bops" at the same time - she only needs to focusI'm here for Gaga The Legend, not Gaga - She Had So Much Potential and the status of a legend is acknowledged by GP, not by fans only, sorry fellow monsters... StrawberryBlond 14,819
I don't see why both have to be mutually exclusive. And define "bop." I think that word is thrown around too freely in this community and no one really knows what it means. I want Gaga to make the music she wants to make, yes, but what makes anyone think that this means just jazz? She has stated before that C2C will not be her last jazz album but AP won't be her last pop album either. She has the thirst to make hits still and that means not jazz. She's made it clear that she'll continue to do both. We have no need to worry. I'm sure she won't go down a dramatically different musical route full-time until she's about 40.
