Something strange about BTW lyrics

I think just for stylistic reasons. It looks better in capitals.

Horrid lyric anyway.

I'm really surprised so many religious references (as in a genuine "role" of God, in BTW: God is the only reason we can accept people for the way they are) in pop music get a free-out-of-jail card. They're retarded.

True, but she shouldn't write down the word "capital", you only say it when you spell the word out ;) for example, the word "aRe" would be spellt as "ey, capital ar, ee"

I think Gaga is not a believer herself, her "God makes no mistakes" may mean everything.

Seriously, this topic is also strange. People are so over sensitive over a small thing, GOSH. :saladga:

Im just trying to discuss something, why ppl always have to assume I'm complaining? GOSH :duck:

because sings the word "capital". It should not have been, however, written down!

Well then the lyrics wouldn't accurately represent the song, I don't think she really cared about a tiny grammatical error

Oh no, you are not, dear.. You are just the most dedicated fan to the most amazing band ever. That's a good thing, don't worry. :kissga:

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

That lyric you made a thread about is another reference though :green:

Probably just to persuade the religious folks to love her song.

And I agree, she should've just had H I M without "capital".

Edit: Oh mess I don't even get what she was trying to say now. "Him" or if there is some hidden thing there. Ugh confused now and worried about my own sanity :saladga:

I understand the lyrics as "it doesn't matter if you love a boy [implying being gay] or if you love God", meaning you can be religious or not, and love whoever the **** you want to love without feeling ashamed.

And like many people pointed it out, HIM is indeed the way God is referred to in the Bible.

him = a guy you like but youre not supposed to because homos-x is 'wrong'
HIM = god

so gaga is saying you can be who you are regardless of your s-xuality or religious beliefs

This too!  IMO, this is exactly what Gaga is trying to say.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

In the UK, HIM stands for Her/His Imperial Majesty, referring to the reigning king or queen

I mean, would Vigilant Citizen lie? :sis:

"Who is “Him” and, more importantly who is capital H-I-M? At first glance, “Him” can be interpreted as a masculine lover, in accordance with the “gay pride” aspect of the song. In that case, who or what is “capital H-I-M”? Is it God? In that is she referring to the distance between homos-xuality and traditional religions?

☆ HIM is also the name of a popular Finnish rock band whose acronym stands for “His Infernal Majesty”. ☆

In this context, is Gaga saying “It doesn’t matter if you love him (God), or capital H-I-M (Satan)”? If that is the case, it would certainly fit with the dualistic, good versus evil, message of the video and the Thelemic theme of her manifesto.

Further in the song, another line states:

“A different lover is not a sin

Believe capital H-I-M (hey, hey, hey)”

In this spiritual context, is the “regular lover” God and the “different lover” His Infernal Majesty? "
