If Only To Meet & Greet

Let us pretend that Lady Gaga started a campaign for her Born This Way Foundation to raise money, bring awareness to those suffering in the LBGT community and from bullying, and bring people together under this banner of what her foundation represents.

During this campaign, let us say that she would go to various cities and town centers, just to do meet and greets for a price, not sure if it would work on donations.  How much would you pay to meet her? And would this be worth it to you, though she didn't involve her music this time?

Could this even work logistically? She probably couldn't do this for hours each day, so it would probably limited to 2-3 hours maximum and even under these circumstances, not everyone would get to meet her, so it would probably be a high price by sheer demand alone. So would you pay to begin with or feel it were an unfair arrangement? Explain your answer if possible.

:adam: Bring it! :gaga:

I probably wouldn't have the money even though I'm ready to pay a certain price :rip:

If I could talk to her for like a full hour alone I'd pay about 300 euros.

So yeah, not gonna happen :hunty:

But I think it would be more profitable for her organization than just relying on donations, yes.

Personally, for me, I'd be kinda disgusted by the idea of her needing a definite price for a fan meet & greet. I'd like the idea more of meeting groups of fans who just donate anything over one dollar. I know that sounds ridiculous, but I actually think it's not a bad idea to get more donations in total. I wouldn't know how to plan something like that, though.

I think for majority of her fans living from not very rich families won't even get to see her

While on the other hand for those that manage, they'll probably have not much time to spend with her to be truthful

If I had my way, I think a free visit would be the most noble because there are many of her fans who can't even afford to buy her CDs

Money is something I despise because it breaks up people into groups and relinquishes the power of the less privileged ones

So, I am saying this, with a heavy heart, that I am not in approval of this noble gesture of yours

For me its more a matter of her 'wanting' to talk to me.  I can blab and blab all day , no matter how much money I spend would matter if she weren't listening or interested.

Now, to answer the hypothetical question presented,  how much would I pay for the privilege of having Gaga pretend to meet me?     100 dllrs US

Alright, so instead of meeting her for a set price, if people could choose to donate from 10 dollars and up, would it be enough to be in her vicinity, have a chance to meet her, and maybe listen to speeches by her, her mom, and/or other folks who support her foundation? Would that sound more plausible and would you go under those conditions?

Omg yeah totally, that sounds awesome.

Though I'd still appreciate an acoustic performance event somewhere or something where everyone can go who has donated/come.

Remember, this is a hypothetical situation to see how much people value a chance, just to meet her, apart from her music or performances.

And if there was a way for people to see her with donations or a smaller fee, possibly with corporate sponsorship or government subsidies, it could even be free, maybe on condition of spreading the word or volunteering to aid in BTW foundation programs or campaigns for LGBT folks.

That actually sounds awesome, an acoustic version of any of her performances, maybe jazzed up versions of her pop songs or like she used to make piano versions.  Would be a different vibe and unique for an event like this. :)

For my two cents, I think bringing awareness to the LBGT Community is worthwhile alone and I'd donate money to the BTWF as it's for a good cause.

For the other fans, if she were to launch an event such as this, a minimum donation should not be required (but probably at least a dollar :laughga:) - any amount is important and it all adds up.  Like you said, she wouldn't spend a great deal of time during the day doing this, so I think for a short time during the summer would be beneficial to raise any money and awareness.

I wouldn't need to meet her personally.  It's not because that wouldn't be fun or that she doesn't mean much to me, but I know how important she is in the lives of others and wouldn't want to squander the time of any fan who might really "need" her.  :)

I have donated to reputable charities before when I can't get out there and literally 'roll up my sleeves'.  Just donating alone is enough reward for me. ♥

*Btw, I actually think this s a great idea - as long as some fans didn't turn it into a 'selfie with Gaga' and 'look at my social media feed' circus - OR thinking that they are the "important" fans. :smh:

Love your attitude here! And good point about donations and the selfie thing.  I think it would be a good catch if phones were prohibited during the event, only for emergencies like at theaters (step into the hall).

Quality time over the quantity of cell phone type photos... When I went to a concert last week to see Rob Zombie, he made a good point that you miss enjoying the event and pictures n' videos come out sucking for the most part anyway. It's like we never trust our memories to stay with us after events like these. We get so obsessed with recording and broadcasting our lives and then forget to live it.
