Just so you know, Madonna was a fan of Edith Piaf (the artist who's originally behind La Vie En Rose, since you don't seem to know it's a very popular cover to do in general) before Gaga was even born. Over the years Madonna has proven countless times she's a big Piaf fan.

In 1996 when doing promotion for the soundtrack and movie Evita, Madonna mentions that she's a big fan of Edith Piaf when talking about her vocal training for the movie. Edith was infamous for having a limited vocal range but still sounding so recognisable, Madonna admired that.
