Agreed. Saw the show at Barclay's Center, and for my first Madonna concert, it was a disappointment.

Lighting and choreography were on-point the whole time, but the pacing was so inconsistent, and there were numerous instances when the energy just got completely sucked out of the venue.

And I didn't care for any of the arrangements of her standards. In most cases, it took me half a verse to realize what song it was. :noparty:

Having said that, I look forward to her next production.

wwhoot? You have obviously been to a different show then ,The energy there was insane The whole show!

And to OP, I could not disagree more NOR would The world judging by The rave reviews shes getting everywhere. Its a brilliant show! A superb production in every sence, including The set list. My favourite tour!  Yes its different to mdna, but so is every other tour of hers. And thats great! Different theme and focus. Brilliant!

I do find it a little odd that you felt The need to post this same thing in The actual tourthread and then make a own thread about in addition with even more "critisism" without even seeing the show? Should we ALL make topics seperately about this? I smell ulterior motifs here... Even The thread title.

It's sad that you can't even say your own personal experience without someone, who gushes over everything madonna related, jumping on you to prove you're wrong and delusional. Your eyes and ears were deceiving you!

Talk about not being able to accept disagreement.

Agree 100%

Also, I think MDNA Tour was great, but it totally relied on the technological aspect of the show to amaze people, and that IMO was because MDNA was such a weaker record itself than Rebel Heart. That's why RHT is getting the best reviews, cause it's a big show with an awesome stage and visualizaions but the music also is actually very good this time and that's the most important thing here, because it's a concert not a tech conference or smth.

I disagree with you completely. I've been to all Madonna tours since 2004, my first was Re-Invention and my last one was MDNA and I couldn't be more excited to see this one in November. Confessions was and probably will always be my favourite tour ever. It was the perfect mix of modern day technology and old school showmanship that only she possesses out of today's current "pop girls". The theme was perfect, the sections incredibly executed and Madonna exceptionally powerful every single night. Sticky&Sweet was incredibly fun and playful and the stadium shows only made it more fun. MDNA was like a darker sister to S&S but it still had playful moments and the stage was out of this world. This show on the other hand feels like she incorporated some technology (the stagefloor/screen that's able to tilt) but kept it mostly just about her. During MDNA, while I loved the show, I felt like there was not enough solo Madonna. Not enough just her on the stage. Of course you're always focused on her, she IS Madonna, the surroundings got a little hectic during MDNA. With this show, take Like A Virigin for instance, it is 100% just her and her ability to entertain a massive crowd all by herself. No dancers, no backings, no hectic visuals. Just her, her moves and her massive, massive showmanship. While I still have to attend (less than two months from now, yay!) I can already see this show being my second favourite, just behind Confessions. Madonna seems very happy, incredibly energetic and her vocals sound unbelievably good. Oh and I think the arrangement for Like A Virgin and it's solo performance is AMAZING.

I couldn't disagree more with your post and those who've attended the show have been saying it's the most magical Madonna tour yet. From the Brooklyn show two days ago:

 Look at the comments:

I was there tonight. The crowd was ELECTRIC. It was AMAZING such great energy and she felt it. The arena erupted with applause for her so many times. She really fed off of it. Magical night! Thank you M!!!

I was there too... the best crowd I have ever been with in a Madonna concert. What a show!!!

So yeah... I completely disagree with your post, the majority of the attending fans so far seem to love it and the reviews have been incredibly positive.

I agree that RH is a better album than MDNA , but mosts songs performed from MDNA was better than mosts songs performed from RH. I don't think relying on tech aspects is a bad thing, moreover I believe tech aspects are super important, but on the other hand choreographies of MDNA Tour was so much better too.

Problem of the tour, and of the album is that they both don't have peaks.

For first paragraph, I personally don't want to see solo Madonna. Why? Because I am a fan of Madonna's creativity. She is not an unbelievably talented musician, she's a good dancer, but not enough to dance on a huge stage alone, and be impressive.

When I go to a Madonna show, I expect over the top stage tech, amazing backdrops, lots of dancers, a very creatively detailed, full, crowded performances.

People write these comments for many tours from Katy Perry tours to Britney Spears residency.

You got me wrong at one point, this show is one of the bests of this year, of course it will get raving reviews. It is still a very good show. I am very disappointed in this show, because I expected something like 3 previous tours. Compared to my perception of what Madonna's standard is, this show sucks. If performed on this tour, Performances that is considered as lows of MDNA Tour like I'm a Sinner, Human Nature etc. would be highs of this tour.

I am sure that for this tour Madonna did not spend as much as time she spent on MDNA tour, I am also sure that budget for this tour was lower than MDNA Tour.

what The hell are you still stalking me in every thread?! Get a life! And for what, for me saying like many others that maybe Gaga' role is not a lead in AHS?

AAnd again, little reading comprehension lessons might suit you. I never said @djBuffoon cant feel that way or that its wrong! I was just surprised cause I felt totally different and said just that.

It seems like a very lazy tour.

Her previous shows had much more substance and style.

Completely agree on that. It does not seem like she spent the amount of time she spent for her previous tours.

When Madonna performs her old songs, she used to re-invent them in a positive way... This time all the remixes were bad except Material Girl.

Like a Virgin is a disaster look at how she did it on Confessions Tour, or MDNA Tour... Amazing.

La Isla Bonita was pretty much the same, she re-invented this song perfectly on S&S Tour.

Holiday was pretty much the same old holiday, she reinvented this song at S&S Tour too.

Burning Up was already performed at Re-Invention Tour this way.

Spanish Medley seemed like a lazy try to perform many old hits at once, songs did not fit well to instrumentation, and choreography was very amateur-ish.

I don't think she can pick her pace up, and does a show like 3 previous times anymore. Her dancing drastically got worse compared to MDNA Tour. It was meant to happen considering her age.

It's actually her best tour in my opinion. She hasn't been happier in so many years and during the RHT she couldn't hide her smile. The emphasize on the tour was love, simplicity and celebration. I think she achieved that.

It's actually her best tour according to this perspective. But I am sure that ticket prices had to be much lower if this was what this tour is all about.

When paying this much for a concert, for especially a Madonna concert, I expect over the top stage with extreme technology, quality backgrounds, flawless choreographies...
