I was very disappointed in "Applause" at first, and it took the mv for me to appreciate it. I still don't think it measures up to a good portion of ARTPOP, or Born This Way for that matter. Not Bad Romance exactly, but nice, something critics and pop fans can get on board with, and nothing too out of reach for Gaga and RedOne/Moroder (knock on wood). This can be related to the charts, sales, sound, lyrics, etc.well, if u saw the photos together with RedOne months earlier and you still have lower expectations, you can erase the memories in your brain of those great songs they did together.
