I think it suits her authentic personality. Also, she comes from a theater background, so I guess this can explain that aspect.Very well said. I don't think renting real sets is cheap either. Didymus 34,380 Posted May 25, 2015 Share Posted May 25, 2015 Why did you say it's matter of money?I'm not really sure which one is more expensive.Visual effects are always more expensive except if you're working with a huge set, famous directors/actors etc. and Gaga never really had that except for Fame, her perfume promo vid which was filled to the brim with effects (and needed producing of famous Ridley Scott to pull that off in terms of financial aid).We also know that Bad Romance, BTW and the original TEOG heavily featured visual effects (all of these were big shot directors). I think the only reason we haven't seen them clearly for ARTPOP is that the videos were shot within a week and Gaga implied that she had to create a concept for the video within that same week. I think the money elements comes in there. Bad Romance didn't have heavy visual effects wasn't it just that diamond scene? And I guess making her eyes bigger in the bathtub. That's pretty subtle compared to these other pop girls's videos. I think Born This Way is pretty much her only video with heavy effects. Also I really don't think money is an object for Gaga at this point. She could plan CGI effects in a week if she had to. Most of that work is done in post production anyway. Katy does it an awful lot, to be pretty honest I think in her videos she wants it to be as real and authentic as possible so that's why This +I think that it helps her to make the videos "Special" and on par with her personality...
