I think I read that Gaga wanted to use Fernando's version (the artRave version), while Kendrick's team wanted to use this version, which is produced by some hip-hop producer that I've forgotten the name of Plus, didn't Gaga say that the song (presumably her version) was influenced by complextro and j-pop music back when it was originally announced? Nah, than we would've gotten the hardstyle version not this one. She wanted the hardstyle J-Pop sounding one and Kendrick wanted this one. Rihanna collaborations which became smash hits. By far this is the strongest I've heard from Gaga in a hip-hop related record, even with her vocals heavily edited. This just sounds so good, a type of record which non-fans of pop music would likely give a try even without caring so much that the song featured the artist who sang Born This Way in 2011. I was actually talking about Aura leaking before the announcement of ARTPOP and Applause. But that makes sense too.
