Even though I'm still pressed about Style and it did not deserve that treatment, I have a feeling that it needed to flop a bit in order for Bad Blood to slay.

But but the songs should have been reversed :lolly:

Was Style really a flop compared to some of Gags singles? Style was a good single just not as successful due to lack of promo but not a flop

Yeah it didn't perform that well commercially, if I'm not wrong it peaked at # 6 on the Hot 100. I mean it was Top 10 but not Top 5 you know? Flopping is really relative.

Pink flamingos always fascinated me.

With the right promo it could've been SO much bigger though.

It peaked at #6 with no promo and a music video that doesn't fit the song, so no, it wasn't really a flop. But ever since the first day of release of 1989, it was declared the song of the album and it truly is a flawless gem. It did not deserve the treatment it got

Why do people keep saying the mv did not fit the song. I mean Taylor approved it so that means it is how she pictured the music video to end up looking. It had nice visuals and although she could have went with something more dynamic and not as slow it still fit the song and the time it was released (right before Valentines) quite well

Totally. Hell, I'd be happy to see something I made featured on the local news and people in here are saying getting to #6 is getting into floppy range. :dies:

Because that would have worked so much better with a song like Wildest Dreams (which I'm 100% sure us going to be the next single, so she wasted the concept)

I like the video, and the visuals are amazing, as is the guy they picked. But I don't think it fits the song because they turned it into a melancholic kinda sad song when the beat is uplifting. Also, it really deserve a storyline

I was SO disappointed with the MV for Style

I always imagined it would be uplifting and summery with Taylor driving past a beach in a convertible with her friends or something

Although I don't see it as a good single pick (sorry) I'm sure her future music video director will come up with something as good or even better for it. Her music videos were really good lately so there's no doubt

AYHTDWS for late summer single

Wildest Dreams for late fall/winter single

New Romantics as last single around Grammy time

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

I don't think that Style is a flop because it was really under-promoted and it still became a top 10.But why would you make this comparison? it's totally off topic and pointless :awkney:
