Andy McQueen 4,484
"Now being a teenager is harder. When I was a teenager because it was the glam era, the weirder the better. Now they need people to tell them, “You’re weird and that’s ****in cool.” Lady Gaga ain’t doing it for me. How can it help someone when your weirdness is manufactured by other people you pay to make you weird? She’s really ****in’ normal and straight, Stephanie. Again, I say that with the utmost respect." Just because she doesn't go around licking people's faces doesn't mean she's not eccentric and strange. And b---h please, she was dressing weird long before she signed up to Interscope. If I am certain about anything on this freaking planet, it's that Gaga is NOT a manufactured popstar. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!! SissyFromSpace 20,883
oh suck my asshole. Gaga came into the game and represented + uplifted those who felt weird. Then everyone came and followed her (ie Nicki Minaj and the rest of Hollywood) Barbie elitist - Weaboo - Sissy
SissyFromSpace 20,883
Gaga is "normal" because it fits with her current album/side project. Shes not going to wear avant garde and meat while singing Jazz standards Barbie elitist - Weaboo - Sissy
LoveandMagic 1,731
I don't get it. She is saying Gaga is branding "weirdness". The fact that she even labels individuality as "weird" disturbs me. "Now being a teenager is harder. When I was a teenager because it was the glam era, the weirder the better. Source: http://bedfordandbowery.com/2015/05/lydia-lunch-is-back-in-nyc-to-spit-fire-and-open-her-new-solo-show/ Well, I can say down South (my region anyway) that "weirder" gets you ostracized and bullied. She was very blessed to be living in an area that celebrated diversity (or did it)? It seems from what I've read here, as well as my own experiences, the experiences of my sister, my friends, her friends, etc, that "weird" was barely tolerated, if at all. Homos-xuality is absolutely not, and my high school we had students throwing N bombs and words like f*g and d*ke like they were running out of style. I had many gothy/alternative friends that despite being funny, artsy, and very smart, were bullied CONSTANTLY. What Gaga is "selling" is universal acceptance, diversity, and recognizing own self-worth. AKA Confidence. AKA what is needed to live life as a well-rounded, happy human being. And happy people breed happier people, while influencing others to be happy. Ms. Lunch may want to take several steps back, and re-examine her views. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
