The Edge of Glory reached number 3 before it was a single.

Venus wouldn't have been a hit. Nothing would've been a hit at that time. It was just the way it was at the time.

It could have been a nice futuristic single from ARTPOP but Applause and DWUW was the only stongs songs singles.

The fact of the matter is, any second single would have been a hit if she didn't waste the Youtube awards performance on dope. That kind of exposure was insanely helpful and performing that song there instead of DWUW was an awful choice

Yes it could have been.

VENUS was selling so much in UK aside from the preorders because of the performance. And was predicted to debut at 6 but couldn't chart as UK's policy of instant grat tracks

 

plus a very strange video with jokes on VENUS/PENIS could have made it bigger :)
