What if Gaga duets with Tony for The Next One...

... with an original song that is a hybrid of pop/dance/jazz?

Would you guys be here for it at all? Many of you can't wait for her to close off the C2C era and move on to her next Pop era. But nobody can deny that Tony has an amazing voice. A duet with him on a pop record could be revolutionary, as it would truely combine classic jazz with a more modern sound - as opposed to simply doing unaltered jazz standards.

The idea came to me when watching a Freddie Mercury documentary. His collaboration with Montserrat Caballé came together very much like Gaga's collab with Tony did. The big difference is that Freddie and Montserrat chose to blend their styles, rather than going to the extreme of either side of their spectrums. The end result had a very fresh sound that worked great for both genres (albeit with some opera purists rejecting the album).

The only question is: would Gaga and, more importantly, Tony even consider doing it? If not, do you guys think Gaga would implement jazz sounds into her solo tracks anyway?

Sidenote: JAZZPOP comments and other similar jokes aren't original, please try harder trolls

Well as long as it fits with the rest of the material I wouldn't mind.

But just imagine Gaga feat. R. Kelly & Tony Bennett :lmao:

I'm more inclined to believe she will do with him the second jazz album they promised shortly after the pop release.

I feel like a lot of you guys simply don't want her to work with Tony because you're expecting "boring" jazz standards, as opposed to the original pop/jazz material that I discussed in the OP :laughga:

I respect Tony, his career and talent but he's just not my thing  and the fact that Gaga worked with him won't make me go stan for tony. Just because Gaga worked with him doesn't mean everyone in the fanbase has to like it. I feel like TonyGa stans will drag anyone who doesn't enjoy them but in reality, we're in a pop forum and obviously not everyone will a) enjoy what they do b) not be a blind stan. If you already liked tony, good for you but people shouldn't force it down peoples throat  oh and I'm not specifically talking about you as I haven't really seen you do it but I've seen it for several members

Yeah I understand that if you don't enjoy him as an artist that something like this wouldn't be your thing. But a lot of people come across as if it's not about Tony, but more about not wanting more "boring" jazz songs in general. And tbh I thought your first comment implied the same thing . But thanks for clarifying.

I personally don't really enjoy the C2C era but I do think Tony has a voice that could be interesting on a pop record, although that's just a matter of taste
