If ARTPOP went as it seemed to be originally planned..?

Guys, let's be honest! ARTPOP would have done well with a little more promo, a video for the 2nd single and a 3rd/4th single with no blackouts.  it charted as prism or bangerz on its 1st week, but it had no stability on the charts because it was left at its destiny. We all know that. But these were the numbers back in the days... Now they are even more little! Bookmark me , ARTPOP would have debuted with more or less 200k copies now, and it would have been a huge success

ARTPOP was promoted heavily though, it's just many people couldn't connect to the generic edm music she made.

Well see, I think you're right. But ARTPOP was never going to be a huge success, but it could have been more successful definitely. Honestly, if she had kept and released Applause on the 19th (especially if it didn't leak) then I could see maybe a #3 peak and a bit better performance (initially at least), and DWUW second single still, performed it at the YTMAs and have them promo it like they did with "Dope" so that DWUW would auto be #8 and probably higher actually, debuted the video that monday, (not the video that she had but one that was still very controversial just not overkill like it looked), DWUW would have peaked at #3 I think if she did all the right promo for it. Then Gypsy for single 3, and a lot of promo and a good video, could have gone top 10, then if all goes well, for a 4th single she could have released Venus with a cool video, maybe it would not have gone top 10 but it would have done bette rI think with the right promo, not just some promo, for them like I said.

So overall, like:
1. Applause - #3
2. DWUW - #3
3. Gypsy - #8 or #9
4. Venus - #19 or #20

I'm pretty sure Aura, G.U.Y., Sexxx Dreams, MANiCURE and ARTPOP were always meant to be on ARTPOP. They sound so ''perfect'' and connected  Gypsy too!

Oh yes I forgot about "ARTPOP" the song! It was, didn't she post lyrics from it in '12 on instagram? I don't care for the song anyway though. I wish Sexxx Dreams could have been a bit different, like, the name... So that she could have released it and it might have slayed, cause even with editing, the name. A turn off. If she had the same song basically but just a different saying then "s-x Dreams" then it could have been released & done well. The only way for Sexx Dreams to have done well if released was a viral video.

It's not that ARTPOP wasn't promoted, but the lack of a 2nd hit killed its stability.. Just look at prism.. Without Dark Horse, it wouldn't have sold that much. I think that with Gypsy as 2nd single, with a good video( I imagine always something a la Yoü and I )would have done great. Though I don't listen to It anymore(after artRAVE especially) it would have done great, basically it's about love, it's something that ppl can relate to, unlike Greek mythology :D

^ARTPOP had a lot of promo tho until the end of DWUW era. The video would have helped DWUW to become a viral hit, not sure if it would have a positive effect to the album.

Stache, Partynauseous, Cake, and BDKMV were never intended for ARTPOP.

I think the idea of having paintings is pretty basic(? plus Stache and Cake Like Lady Gaga are really bad songs, and I don't like Brooklyn Nights. I think ARTPOP is perfect the way it is. If we focus on which way it would have performed better we're not getting the whole idea of ARTPOP.

Well most of these songs were rumoured for Act II which never saw the light of the day... :noparty:

Anyway, I love the ARTPOP tracklist as it is and I wouldn't change it! The real problems were the execution/management, and the drama behind the scenes (label, promo etc.)

I love stache but there's no mainstream radio that's going to play a song that is so blatantly about cannabis for young kids to listen to
