Why do you think Gaga dislikes Katy?

I don't think that Gaga particularly hates her, she just doesn't really care about her. Also:

It's a fact that Katy has always been nicer to Gaga than the other way around. Gaga was asked about Katy quite often and really never gave her a strong compliment.

Probably like people already said:
- Katy is more carefree pop music without much intellect behind it, not something Gaga would really like or appreciate.
- Gaga probably feels like Katy is one of the people that followed the trends Gaga started without ever giving credit.

That's just one example.

I said that on the first page of this thread tho. She once disliked Katy bc Katy was blatantly copying her. Gaga was also so stressed that time bc of too much negativity, so sometimes she was having messy tweets. It was understandable. Sometimes we can't control our emotion when we are stressed or depressed.

But now I think Gaga doesn't care anymore and has already moved-on. She's now focusing on the positive side of her life. I know Gaga isn't a hateful person even before.

And during her Howard Stern interview, she even mentioned that "big productions became trendy" after she came out. She also mentioned this about Sia: "It's a shame that Sia isn't bigger and people who can't sing are bigger"

There are just too many coincidences and she obviously dislikes Katy I'm not saying she hates her but she just dislikes her.

Also the "Looks like green hair and mechanical horses are the thing now" comment.

I think from Gaga's perspective she might not mind Katy on a personal level, but is not a big fan of her work.

I don't think Gaga minds Katy occupying her space in the pop sphere, but it's sort of Gaga's objective to go beyond the commercial side of pop music, that have clear demographics and music/videos/performances driven by corporate ideals. Katy very much appeals to particular demographics and takes a lot of direction from her record label and others around her.

They had a one night stand and Katy ended up thinking it was the start of a relationship and Gaga just wasn't interested.

The fact they never take pictures together at Awards Shows (After 2011- When Katy's commercial success started to get bigger than Gaga's) while they both take pictures with alot of people. They seem to ignore each other nowadays.

What's weird is that they both tweeted each other at the beginning of the Roar, Applause eras like they were friends.

There is obviously something going on there between them. What do you think is the reason for it?

And I don't think she hates her, she simply doesn't care about her.

Idk, it seems like Katy just represents a lot of what Gaga has said is wrong with the music industry.  So it's not surprising that they're not chummy.

Also, they have very different personalities and purport themselves very differently.  All the pop music drama aside, I still don't even think they'd be friends.

I don't think Gaga hates Katy, but I don't think she has a very high opinion of her as an artist.

Her lack of talent as a singer, her lack of artistic direction in her videos/performances, her use of the most popular pop producers and her use of writers I'm sure puts her off. 

I think the whole wacky costume phase and move towards choreographed big productions after Gaga debuted would also have Gaga rolling her eyes a bit.

I don't think Gaga dislikes Katy, it's just they have nothing in common. It doesn't help when the fan bases feud and the media tries to one up Gaga constantly, like she is some has been and Katy is supreme. There's a place for both of them, and I think both Gaga knows that.
