I'm sorry, but none of these generalizations are true. Speak Now is what 99.9% of fans and critics alike consider to be her best studio album to date, featuring 16 songs written only by her. It's her most personal and mature album to date. Red only has three pop songs out of the 19 songs on the deluxe version, and even those songs have a country feel to it, so it's far from being a pop record. As for the Grammys, it got nominated for 4 awards, more than any album of hers since Fearless in 2009, so the academy certainly do not seem to mind her recent efforts. They also dedicated an entire exhibit to her career and new sound. Also, the reason Shake It Off was against songs like Happy, Stay With Me, Chandelier etc. so it was clear it was not going to win anything from the beginning. It was also the most recent of the lot. Sia did not win anything while Chandelier was the clear favorite, but it does not mean the academy did not like her new sound, image or whatever. It's not like she decided to go pop in order to be commercial and sell and get radio airplay (she was still getting tons on country radio anyway). It's a clear progression of her sound that can be traced back to Fearless, where pop started slowly seeping into her sound.
As for the Calvin/Taylor relationship, Calvin's the one who benefits the most from the commercial train and, if I recall correctly, Taylor said she didn't like EDM a couple of years back. "So they can say they had an album that sold millions, that had #1's and top ten singles, tons of VEVO views, tons of awards and a sellout world tour at large venues." She has been selling millions, getting top ten singles, awards and sell outs since Fearless, so going with a more mainstream sound is not the reason why she does it.

It's not about what other people think: I'm talking based from my opinion alone. Personally, I find quite a few of her songs quite immature due to her lyrics and behaviour in the lyrics. Speak Now may be her most mature album, but there's quite a few immature songs there. Can't really give her much of a pass after that, though, as she was in her 20's from Red so I don't think there's any justifcation for her 14-year-old's-diary rhymes anymore. There's more than 3 pop songs on Red - it was the most pop she'd ever been until now. Begin Again was the only genuine country song there. I think the only reason Red got any sort of nominations is because the academy really don't listen to much music other than the stuff that's most popular. Also, it was slim pickings for country around that time, so they pretty much had to nominate her just to pad it out. And how on earth is WANEGBT nominated for a country song in any universe? They were just wanting to nominate her for something. Yes, she got 4 noms, but it was just for 2 songs and 2 for the album as a whole. No noms for IKYWT despite it being a big hit, 22 was similarly snubbed. She only got 1 nom for her lead single big hit, and the only only nom was for her only truly country song on the album. Sends a clear message, don't you think? I'm not going to argue that she was ever far from pop - every album of hers got progessively more pop over time, culminating in 1989. But did she have to take it that far? She clearly wanted the success, otherwise she wouldn't have done it.

Oh, I think Taylor benefits hugely from being commercial pop. She only had big hits in English speaking countries prior to going pop (and her country songs rarely charted outwith the US). She didn't start having big international album sales until she went more pop. If she goes back to country, the rest of the world aren't going to be here for it. She's friends with HAIM and they featured on a Calvin song, so I'm sure she'll come round. Calvin was making music for Rita Ora when he was dating her, so it'll be weird if he doesn't want to do it this time. And yes, I know Taylor always had the sales, I mentioned that before, but I am saying that she got even more success than ever before by doing pop. I believe 1989 has just become her biggest selling album ever, beating Fearless. For the first time ever, she was getting platinum sales in countries that had never accepted her before. Don't tell me that she didn't know this would happen by going commercial and she didn't want this world acceptance for at least one album.

Y'all sound so pressed. Life's brighter when you let Taylor Swift in.

Talking about how she uses her relationships is s-xist and I thought we left that three years ago, on 2012.

Personally I see her going towards an indie direction. You can see the inspiration from her friends on 1989, specially Lorde, so I wouldn't be surprised to see her release something in 2017 that sounded like a mix of Days Are Gone and Pure Heroine.

Whatever she decides to do, I'm sure she'll do it right like she's been doing since Fearless came out.

I can definitely see her taking a Lorde, Lana approach (sound) honestly. I also will bet that it will be a successful album, if the era goes as smooth as her previous have.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

I think if this tour is everything she's hyped it to be and she keeps turing through 2016 and releases proper videos for every single, her next era could be even bigger. She'd have all the awards from 1989, all the friends, maybe even collabs with Calvin & Kanye...
