It also declines by 89 percent in pure album sales (to 12,000 sold -- down from its 106,000 sales start). What I was trying to say is that his current fan base is limited to young girls. Those young girls will obviously buy the album the week it's out. Because of the limited audience, the sales for this week declined. Ed Sheeran appeals to a larger audience, leading to his commercial success. EDIT: I guess One Direction has the same demographic for a fan base but I don't think Shawn is as big as them world wide just yet.
