First of all, she is not the second coming of Jesus, even if we as fans tend to think she is. She didn't made herself as an advocate of race equality specifically in the past, although equality in general, and gender related equality, is more her thing. Her words on these race issues will somewhat lack in credibility, as well meaning they would be, she not having specifically address these before. Besides, sometimes it is better to not put your foot in your mouth on controversial and politically heavy issues, especially coming from someone known more as an entertainer/artist than an activist. Besides, what are her peers doing on this?

she's already tweeted about Ferguson & she has said years ago people should do non-violent protests & have their voices heard.

So i'm sure she's against them smashing up their city, but i'm sure if she spoke out in favour of either one she'd either be called racist or a supporter of rioting so she's smart not to.

also imo, if you don't wanna be stereotyped, don't act like your stereotype, don't wanna be called a thug don't act like one tbh. also i see a lot of black people wanting respect from white people but when white people try to be like that they say we're white so we have no opinion which is utterly stupid

I guess because people would assume that she's only doing it to grab attention since she's white:huh:

I don't think of her as the second coming of jesus, I think of her as a celebrity with influence and power behind her voice. She's mentioned Martin Luther, Gandhi and their non-violent stance. She's also stated in interviews again and again why there isn't more african american literature explored in colleges. I don't feel her words will lack any credibility, if she needs to start addressing these issues she would need a starting point and I don't see why now isn't an appropriate time to do so? Also, this is a lady gaga forum, hense why I'm asking why gaga specifically hasn't stated her stance on the current happenings; there are many other celebrities that aren't using their power to shed light on important issues such as this one.

Bad Bromance

She really can't afford to make controversial statements right now and any statement about those topics, no matter how nicely put, can easily bite her in the ass.

This right here!!  Gaga is in the process of cleaning up her image ATM so she has to be very careful with what she posts online.  Anything that could be misconstrued is probably best left unsaid, tbqh.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Another reason is that she might want to rest for awhile from negativity esp. that she just came from depression. The queen just want to enjoy life rn without worrying anything. She's recharging for her comeback!

The real question is why does she have to talk about it? She can do nothing about it. It's not like people will care about whatever she says  plus she is busy with other things...it's not her responsability to teach people about issues...she's just an entertainer / artist and that's it.

I myself am not aware of what's going on in America but I guess Gaga's busy farming and taking care of her chickens. Oh yeah and of course dogs.

She doesn't have to, again just wondering why she hasn't. Police brutality is a crisis that's happening in the US and the african american community are the majority of the victims of this brutality. Since August 2014, over 800 people have been killed by US police officials.
