listen to me and ONLY ME.

absolutely.

it would have been a huge hit! Billboard said it's a hidden #1.

I guess that's enough.. and anyone who says no is crazy.

Fiona Apple

Maybe as a lead single.

Remember that radio was slow to pick up Applause but they were eventually forced to because Applause had the benefit of pre-album fan sales. Had Applause not been the lead, it would've flopped too. Radio was already prejudiced against "too noisy" by that time. Both might've smashed in 2011 or 2012.

Applause did very well tho

Yes ! I'ms sure. :queenga:

But radio couldn't play it cause they were all paied by Kats Purry's label to play Black Horse/This Is How We Do instead :lolly:

They were not paid. Radio stations admitted that Katy never paid them. Only that person in Twitter from that radio station said that Katy used payola for Dark Horse. And guess what? That person who said that got fired from that radio station and they later apologized for giving out the wrong info about Katy. This Is How We Do barely had any airplay. You call what This Is How We Do got promo? Lol. This Is How We Do's lack of promo & not enough airplay was the reason it underperformed.

The song just wasn't really that good (face it Little Monsters. Gaga can and has done better). It had enough promo to at least be a moderate hit by the aspect of sales, charts, streaming, airplay, and etc... such as Roseland Ballroom shows, a Letterman performance, teasers & trailers for it's video, and etc... :bye:

It got decent radio time where I lived (Washington/Baltimore). Granted, not the best times, but I think the song could've really benefited from decent promo. You had a live performances on David Letterman, but other than that there was nothing. The video premier was weak (on a Saturday night) and the single wasn't released until AFTER the video.

The release was honestly a mess. Maybe lack of radio play had something to do with it, but I don't think it would've been a hit. After that black out she should have released the single, performed on a morning/late night show, then dropped the music video on a weeknight. That could've helped the song at least catch on.

Mister Gaga

Not at THAT time. In another life, in which ARTPOP didn´t underperform, for sure. It's a great song, a Gaga classic for me, and it's super catchy.

Yes. It's a very catchy, instantly lovable track with a killer bridge and an amazing chorus. My friends who frown upon the mere mention of Lady Gaga loved it, when AP came out I said to them I know you hate her but if you ever listen to anything by her it has to be this song...and they were surprised by how amazing the song was and listened to it for months, they even liked the intro which I personally think is an unnecessary part of the song.

Fame Romance

Get over it, none of ARTPOP songs had potential to really smash like her peak days, I think she did her best to promote the album and the singles but the GP just was not interested.

That is so weird, I thought they had mad beef after Gaga didn't enjoy her interview with him during the BTW era (when she ate the paper) and she didn't go to his show in the AP era
