After hearing ARTPOP for the first time in a while +Thoughts on RockGa

I have not yet heard ARTPOP in a while, probably in a year and half. After hearing the whole album, my first thought came to songs that i degraded when i first heard the album (Swine, Jewels N Drugs, Dope,Donatella, and ARTPOP). but now, i can appreciate this album since it shows Gaga's diversity in terms of musicality without going out of her own style, (yes, even Jewels N; Drugs contrasts other songs, it shows gaga's characteristics in some parts} I never realized how perfect the track list was. firstly, i stop hearing ARTPOP because i was bored with it and did not like some songs, but now i can feel how gaga puts her soul through her album. despite the great and clean production of the tracks (i think Jewels N; Drugs has the cleanest production),  i still miss the production or elements that she used in Born this way. for instance, Gaga changed the sounding of rock in swine and MANiCURE into the final cut, it still bugs me sometimes, also same as the final version of Aura. My favourite track is still mary jane holland, and the reason is that she didnt throw of the "born this way" element in the song and that bridge slays my life (MJH sounds alot like her songs in BTW: Highway unicorn, Black Jesus + Amen Fashion) I think that these songs were underrated and defines her unique personality. I would like to say that i need more songs like Highway unicorn, Black Jesus, bad kids in her next album.

Agree. In addition, I think little monsters bash ARTPOP a lot because it was not a commercial success compared to its predecessors, everybody was slayed when it first came out...

For example: Comparing to other pop albums released recently, I think that only pop album that sounds more fresh, more innovative than ARTPOP is Beyoncé.

And so it begins...as the next era gets closer, ARTPOP gains more recognition in the fan base...it's Born This Way all over again. Ready for the "Why ARTPOP is better than [New Album Title]" and "I miss ARTPOP's sound" threads that'll be here in 2016 :lolly:

On topic, I'm really glad that you've found a new appreciation for the album! It's an incredible body of work.

Idk, I listened to several tracks the other day and while they were good, better than several of the other pop albums that year, it was all still kind of just "ok."

He didn't lie tho :green: Well I mean he kinda lied in saying it was the only one but yeah Beyonce was more fresh/innovative.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

To be honest, I loathed the album at first. Not because of the disaster that was the situation surrounding it (well, kind of), but also because something about the album just sounded so... deluded. Almost like there was something more she wanted to get out with it (and, sadly enough, that was kind of true).

However, over the last year, I've come to really, really appreciate it. I agree with OP that I was pretty disappointed that the whole grittiness of Born This Way/the Swinefest versions of the songs were removed from the final version- however, I do appreciate the more streamlined, "clean" production of ARTPOP.

True! It's a never ending cycle, lol.

However, this totally reminds of when right before Applause came out, literally half the site on here was going off about how BTW was such an awful album, and how ready they were for ARTPOP.

lol

3 points in and ready for more

I listen to it every time I go running.  I usually stop after Donatella.  Really like every song but Fashion!

I love ARTPOP.   If Gaga feels inclined to do rock at some point, I'm all for it.

I live outside the space time continuum.
