TOTALLY disagree. uffies point of view was cooler and a lot more focused than ke$ha's imo. not that i don't like ke$ha or am intending to diss her in any way. uffie to me is the more dynamic one of the two. ke$ha was like her drunk clumsy sister haha

and ive never thought of ke$ha as a vocalist personally. she shines when she does her bratty white girl faux-rap a la uffie, dev, amanda blank, avenue d, etc

agreed. to me Uffie was always going for the gangster white girl thing and was serious about it. Kesha on the other hand, is completely ironic about it.

i see you live in LA. i do too. Kesha to me at least has always had a very Southern California point of view....but paired it with this renactment of the whole drunk LA party girl.kinda bratty, smart but acts stupid, s-xy but abrasive, i cant tell you how many girls AND guys ive met that actually act like what kesha is so obviously joking about in her songs.

i heard someone describe kesha perfectly once. they said that "kesha is only in on the joke half the time"

uffie definitely had this white girl urban vibe but it was paired with her spoiled rich girl attitude because she is a spoiled rich girl haha

but yeah ke$ha's initial aesthetic was ironic. i miss that about her because with warrior i feel like she has no real point of view. she says its about being strong during adversity and owning yourself but to me that describes the tone of the album sort of lamely. like everyones already said, she seemed to desire a whole different direction that her label didn't allow her to go in.

*these madonna gifs need to go away

*i feel like i should state that i do like warrior and i actually prefer it to cannibal.

sadly its very noticeable how the album was basically patched together

to me its pretty obvious that kesha wrote a majority of songs with the flaming lips and recorded them and intended to take that route on the album and minimize the Dr luke. mixing rock/punk and electro. but i think the label pulled the rug out from beneath her and didnt like the tracks. so consequently the reason why the single took so long to come out was because i think kesha was forced to work with dr luke and rush the album together. thus why it feels so stale, kesha was rushed.... and in the process the whole cock pop/combining rock/punk/electro got lost.............

i hate these madonna gifs.............

Really?

interesting im curious as to why?

Animal and Cannibal to me are to me some of the most fully realized and cohesive pop releases

you know on one hand i really wish she had been allowed to see her vision through, that way she would've been presenting to the world something she wanted to promote and feel strongly about. because throughout her promotion of warrior, in my opinion, she seems a little worn down. on the other hand though, i don't know how i feel about what we've heard of her "cock pop" so far and if thats how the entire album would have been idk if i wouldve liked it. pretty lady was atrocious to me, dancing with the devil is okay, dirty love is kind of okay but the iggy verse makes it atrocious. but had she been allowed to see her vision through i just wonder if it would've been better than what weve heard.

*couldnt figure out how to copy and past the quote haha*

what i like about cannibal is that it continued the point of view she had with animal. the animal (billboard remix) is hands down my favorite ke$ha song even though its a remix. i also liked the harold song and we r who we r. but even though i liked that she had a point of view in comparison to her now, i just didn't like most of the songs on it. i didn't like blow and i especially didn't like cannibal. i mean i appreciate the cohesion, i just didn't care for the songs.

whereas warrior has offered me supernatural, love into the light, etc. which i prefer, even despite her lacking a point of view.

I loved how Cannibal took really hard electro and paired it with old school punk attitude(NOT AVRIL LAVIGNE) and threw in rap.

Cannibal made kesha darker and meaner than animal did. i love the dichotomy of both the albums. i think what she is trying to say is clearer on cannibal than it is warrior

i love every song on cannibal. with cannibal and the harold song being some of my all time favorites for kesha in general. but i will say that i god damn hate cunxttuesday. it dosent make any sense at all and i dont like the whole 90s synthesizer glam sound to it

blegghhhh c u next tuesday is no bueno. neither is grow a pear imo

whats always bothered me is that people seem to write ke$ha off as a total one note. but really theres something about her thats a lot more dynamic than people care to notice. in my opinion she has something more to offer than her more popular counterpart katy perry but shes not wrapped in a pretty little package so people don't care to acknowledge it. you know? and thats kind of a shame. not necessarily meaning to diss katy, i don't hate her or anything. im generally indifferent.

there is way more to kesha than meets the eye and way less to katy perry than you think....

lets just say that..

katy is constructed and insincere.

and lets just say thats from personal experience....the person that she sells herself as is not like her at all....i dont want to be to negative about her cause people will get pissed..... :P

Kesha is actually quite the business woman. she has always been adept at having a unique sound. shes very musically talented and she found a way to package herself in the most sellable way while still retaining her creativity.

i think out of all the artists out there Kesha is the closest to being like lady gaga, and thats in a good way. shes savvy like gaga but rather than copying her she made her own as the not high fashion and not a lady...... lady gaga...

i dont think her strongest attributes are present this era though which irks me. there are ke$ha gems on the album of course and i do like most of the songs other than the gay club fillers (all that matters, out alive, die young). hoping for more recent leaks, particularly the wayne coyne ones.

and you have a personal experience with katy perry? do tell, privately if you prefer haha

agreed she ditched the bratty thing which is what made her so good but it still shines thru on certain tracks (thinking of you, cmon, gold trans am) and some of the songs are really well written (supernatural and past lives and warrior)

and in regards to miss s k a n k y ....... oh i shall and it will be quite negative and hateful

I see a re-release happening. Like Animal/Cannibal but in a sense that the new music can't be purchased separately in order to boost Warrior's sales. Like Nicki did with The Re-Up
