Coop 15,294
There are holograms, and then there’s the multi-media magic that’s about be pulled off in memoriam of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez.It’s been 20 years since Selena was shot and killed, but the Queen of Tejano music is still very much beloved (right, Drake?), so the Texas native’s family announced that she will, indeed, sing again, thanks to hologram technology.According to the announcement made on her official Facebook page on Tuesday (April 7), the hologram, “Selena the One,” is the development of a “walking, talking, singing, and dancing, digital embodiment of iconic singer, Selena.”The company responsible for the project, Acrovit, is working with the late singer’s immediate family and cutting-edge scientists to create new productions for her fans. “Selena the One” will release new songs and videos and collaborate with current artists and—get this—go on tour in 2018.“Selena is a Latin- American icon who was taken before her time. Acrovirt and the Quintanilla family are excited to announce that Selena will continue to share her creative talents with the world in a new innovative way,” said Terry Kennedy, Co-Founder of Acrovirt. http://www.mtv.com/news/2127647/selena-hologram-going-on-tour/?xrs=_s.fb_main_c.mu_h.

Iwontell 7,312
I find it a bit disrespectful, tbh... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
JustPokeHerFace 2,564
Why can't companies stop milking dead artists and their legacies? It's disgusting.
Dunk96 2,526
It gives a new generation an opportunity to experience the greatest Tejano artist who ever lived whose life was cut tragically short. Why is it so bad?
Vernier 3,786
I kinda find these post-mortem releases/tours a bit tacky tbh, feels a bit like they're just milking the artist. But if her fans are here for it Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
Rae 86
They sound like they want to wake her up and walk the earth. And we know how that ends up in movies. She was not that famous. The only reason I know her is because Jennifer Lopez portrayed her in a movie. But she was still talented. How come Selena and Lina Morganda died in a ungodly way. Both were up and coming stars. Just a shame.
