jojuun 4,159
People still don't get it.....From the moment she rolled around the stage in like a virgin, people called her pathetic and desperate. They criticized her for just trying to shock and cause controversy with like a prayer and burning crosses. She was called a talentless W***e and crucified by the press during the s-x book era. She doesn't have any shame and isn't going to start now! She gives no F**KS......that is her gig. If you are only in your 20's I don't really expect you to get it because you really weren't around to experience the impact at the time. People seem to forget that she has a 33 years career and she only starts now to get lower album numbers. Yes Rebel Heart under performs compared to her other works, but she still able to sell half a million of copies in 3 weeks and be #1 in over 15 countries. Name me one artist in its 50's and a 30+ years career that can sell this amount of copies and get a #1 album over the world especially in the pop industry. You can all try to say it's a flop, yes it is if you compare with other artists, but if you take in consideration her background it's far from a flop. She has the ultimate dream career, 30 years of high success, it's never seen all artists combined. THE TEA HAS BEEN SERVED! CALL ME WHEN ANY OF THE CURRENT GIRLS GET A #1 ALBUM AT 56 YEARS OLDCALL ME WHEN ANY OF THE CURRENT GIRLS GET THE HIGHEST GROSSING TOUR EVER BY A SOLO ARTIST IN THEIR FIFTIESCALL ME WHEN ANY OF THE CURRENT GIRLS GET THE HIGHEST GROSSING TOUR EVER BY A FEMALE ARTISTCALL ME WHEN ANY OF THE CURRENT GIRLS GET THE TITLE OF BIGGEST SELLING AND HIGHEST GROSSING FEMALE OF ALL TIMECALL ME WHEN ANY OF THE CURRENT GIRLS CAUSE SO MUCH TALK AND DISCUSSION AFTER 30+ YEARS IN THE INDUSTRYSERIOUSLYCALL ME

RAMROD 106,687
The major leakage is not hear fault. If that never happen, this album will have better sales cos it is really good.Safe to say anyone who wish to destroy her might did it this time. Fish 6,087
She needs a more folk sound like in AL. Or go the total house dance music route like CODF...She excels in those two genres. As soon as she is trying to be pop, she fails.
dlioncourt91 765
To continue my thoughts: I don't mean to say that in thinking for any chart success or anything I'm just talking about Madonna maintianing her legacy because with each album for the last decade she is just looking phatethic imo. Like in GPs eyes she looks that she is afraid of admitting that she is old and wants to stay young. That's almost what every article has said after she does something 'provocative' these days, even after her fall that got her some positive attention there were still magazines and bloggers that mocked her for that .... like there was one person, I can't recall his name, that said sth like "That was God's say that Madonna should stop acting young'' in regarts of her fall. Right now she has that resources and is at point of her life where she doesn't need to carry about the chart. Why don't go and direct another movie, or star in one. Release some ballads album ...... like do something appropriate for ur age. Get press attention with stuff like that and in the end u are Madonna peeople will always want to see u live and they will want to hear the hits. Every now and then when u realease some acoustic album or album full with mid-tempo more mature songs u could still tour and dance and stuff. Just do it right. Yet isn't that her whole purpose of doing what she does? People have always been telling her what to do and what's appropriate. If she did everything people wanted to, she'd never have lasted this long. She already released a ballad album in the 90's. She'll be directing again after the tour and Re-Invention Tour was her Greatest Hits tour in some way. She's too much of an ambitious person to ever slow down or compromise her work ethic due to what society thinks. She predicted the same thing that's happening to her back in '92 with her age being use as a weapon to demean her abilities and accomplishment. In the end, she's damned if she acts her age because people will still call her old and if she decides to be the scapegoat for ageism battle (yes, it's very real) she'll still feel the brunt of that but it'll allow future female pop stars to tread the same path just as they do now. In the end, she's paving the way but she'll never get the credit she deserves long after she's dead, honestly.
HausOfGuy 10
I love madonna, i really really do, but why do people keep saying the same old stuff over and over again ?"shes madonna" "she doesnt need to proof anything to anyone" "she doesnt need this ****"yeah right. than please tell me why she hasnt released an outstanding album since Confessions? Hard Candy, MDNA and Rebel Heart were obviously made to please the masses. She cares about the charts and she most definitely cares about staying relevant. Yes she is a legend, yes shes sold MILLIONS of albums but that doesnt make her some type of untouchable goddess who cant fail at anything she does. Ppl need to stop acting like she flopped with an amazing conceptual album. Rebel Heart is good, but NOTHING compared to ROF/Confessions/American life and the rest of her flawless discography. Rebel Heart 5,142
There is some speculation that someone on the inside was deliberately working to sabotage the album. Looks like someone from the Haus was on a secret mission Hey Girl is the best song of Gaga's career #Justice4HeyGirl
Dorothy Gale 7,575
It's not that Madonna should try to conform or do something for the sake of being "age appropriate." But after 3 albums of subpar material, it's clear that she needs to try something different, even if it's just for her own sake as an artist. She should try something different for herself. JbGaga 2,261
The fact that anyone here can say Madonna "Needs" anything is a beyond stupid statement. She could lay in bed for the rest of her life and still be queen of pop. I don't like her but for real enough of this. Madonna doesn't "Need" anything. She can **** sold out stadiums and over priced tickets for the rest of her life without ever putting out a popular album.

The fall on the Brit's was pure example of that. Even if u blame it that is designer's fault, still why it hasn't happen before. See her Ghosttown performance with Taylor that was way more enjoyable and appropriate for her age. And right now it's not so much about what society thinks but her health becasuse no matter how ambitious she is or that she doesn't make sompromise, she can't beat her own body's boundaries and it's matter of time before another situation like the Brits happen. It's much more fun to have hizophrenia... u never get lonely
