Andreyw 4,285
She doesn't need a new game plan , she needs a better selection of singles from Rebel Heart
Spock 20,290
As if Madonna needed the validation of the BB200 or hit singles to prove her worth Yes, Rebel Heart wasn't a success but it doesn't matter. She's Madonna. who will love me when the night is over
mcoop 628
She's already accomplished so much in her 30 year career. Who cares if she's successful, she'll make up the losses with her tour anyway. At this point, it should be strictly about the music. I think that's something her fans, and she herself needs to realize. You're right. It should be about the music. Unfortunately, the music as of lately just isn't good.
Dorothy Gale 7,575
Her fanbase is mostly older adults, yet she's making music to try and appeal to 20-something clubbers.
Hellspont 1,468
Not that it matters much she has so much money and name recognition. She should probably stop trying to pander to the young generation its not going to happen
bionic 49,839
I'm Breathless II would be a lot fresher and more exciting than her last two albums. She'd be in her own lane, not chasing last year's dance-pop trend too. Well everyone on here would be all "she's copying C2C " so it's kinda redundant. stream bionic

djparky 262
I don't deny the leaks hurt...equally so has releasing a bunch of songs even her fanbase don't like hasn't helped either...I remember the excitement when the demos of Rebel Heart and Wash all over me leaked...that started to evaporate the minute the Bitch songs appeared and then went altogether when the rest of the demos appeared. Madonna aims at a market that doesn't exist for her now...and in doing so loses her actual fanbase along the way- as a fan it is very frustratingThe same thing is playing out in poor ticket sales for the tour...it's not hard the fanbase is still there and if she did COADF2 then it would get people back againThe article is spot on about collaborators..she needs to ditch these rappers, hip-hop people and get back to actual music producers again- preferably someone who will say no to her when she comes up with crap like Holy Water and SEX
Psychedelic 1,098
Who cares! Rebel Heart is a good album and she'll always be Madonna, no matter what Plus, wait for the tour to slay
Vernier 3,786
She's already had her impact on the charts and being the best selling female performer, she has nothing else to prove. She's more of a touring act now and as long as she continues to slay with that, which she will, she has nothing to worry about. Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
VforVendetta 2,024
The problem with Madonna is that she doesn't follow her age and so she doesn't let her music experience that growth as well. Instead she follows success, trends and her lust for #1s. She is the Queen of Pop and she is almost 60. She will either make an interesting step to music that supports her career at this later point or she will keep embarassing herself by acting like Arianna Grande. As much as I appreciate a lot of Madonna's career it is so obvious to me that most of her success for so many dacades came from the fact that she was and always is thrusty for success. What made her stay relevant for so many decdes now holds her back, I feel that she has no depth, she just uses ''heavy'' music statements that have no real background for shallow reasons. Shale101 99
Some people on this forum......realllly?......you just don't get it. Madonna will be turning 57 in August. Over 30 years in the business. EVERY artist will have a PEAK. Its like with life.....comes death. You can choose to enjoy the music she makes now or forever criticize the fact that it wasn't better then like a prayer or didn't sell as many copies as True Blue or She failed to go number 1 in every country. This is the reality for every artist in the world....the trajectory of having a career in the music business. You need to get OVER IT. Some people are just addicted to the hate or living in the past. Newsflash she will never sell as many albulms as she once did. Welcome to reality. Madonna has proved that she is indeed the queen of pop forever.....never to be out done. There is nothing she can do to ruin her reputation. There will always be people who don't like what she's doing but thats ALWAYS the way its been with Madonna. StrawberryBlond 14,820
Really, she has no need to make an album ever again. After Ray Of Light, a lot of the magic ended and her last three albums especially have been terrible. Even the fans say this. I wish she would stop releasing albums just for the purpose of have a money making tour. She's had 3 greatest hits albums but still no greatest hits tour. What's up with that? Her fans have been wanting her to sing all the hits on tour for years and are disappointed when she focuses on her new material which no one cares about. But maybe she doesn't want to have such a tour because it would be a public admission that she's old. After the mixed-negative reception she's had for the last 3 albums, now is the time where she needs to seriously consider if she wants to keep making music at all. Even her fans say her recent works are tarnishing her legacy because they're just not of a high standard anymore.Ultimately, she needs to own up to the fact that she's older and needs to make more age appropriate music and collabs. No more singing about "don't it taste like holy water, Jesus loves my p***y best" and hooking up with whatever young, generic act is around at the moment. There's no call for a 56 year old Madonna to do these things, not from the fans, not from the public. Some of the lyrics now...I'm 25 and I'd be embarrassed to sing them. She's surrounded by a bunch of yes people and isn't used to being told no. Someone needs to give her a reality check. Some of her most commercially successful, critically acclaimed work was when she made mature music (Like A Prayer, Evita, Ray Of Light...even the lesser successes like I'm Breathless and Bedtime Stories have their audience). I would have thought that Madonna would have the foresight to realise that being "real" is in right now, what with ballad artists like Adele and Sam Smith ruling the charts. One of the things that put a lot of people off Madonna is that she puts on a front, a fake artifice, and seems rather superficial. When she plays it mature and vulnerable, she gets rave reception. Right now, with music like this being successful, she could get somewhere with that.
