Why didn't Beyoncé's 4 receive the criticism that ARTPOP did?

​Her music still **** on whole Beyonce's discography tbh there isn't a single album that you find yourself sleeping while listening. Britney is really down to earth cause she doesn't think she is the best and all, she acknowledges her flaws too, many people have said that while working with her she wasn't a diva. Beyonce doesn't write her songs but claim to and even pay ghostwriters.

Beyonce didn't release an album and have an era that was "all about the gays".  That set Gaga up for backlash and hate, even from those she was advocating for. 

Plus, Bey's most vocal fans were varied and loyal enough to smooth over an underperforming era. Gaga's most vocal fans went running into the streets, hysterically falling apart, when she had a less successful era.

Theres a myriad of reasons but ill just scratch the surface. 4 didn't smash on the charts or with sales but the reason it didn't get as much flack is not only because its by Beyonce, of course, but because its musical content harked back to classic R&B. Even if the album didn't particularly do well, it still sounded stereotypically respectable. Whereas ARTPOP was a pure pop record with electro production, people are just going to roll their eyes and say "you call this art"? And thats what they did.
