I'm getting 16.5 million streams needed for Empire to make up for the space? Am I doing the maths wrong?

The difference X by 1500 (the number needed for 1 album sale)

Oh poor Gaga if people were more critical of her underperformance  ON HER THIRD/FOURTH ALBUM?! Her career should be on the rise not well you know (I do hope she makes a proper slaying comeback with her next pop record). See guys, there is a bit of a difference with these two. Madonna is on her 13th studio album and 33 years into her career and nearly sixty. She can "flop" all she can, it doesn't matter at all to her legacy. She is the most important and most succesful female recording artist ever and probably will for ever remain as such. So it's brilliant how she's doing with her new album.

Barbra Streisand says hello with better sales. :)

Madonna will remain a legend but the performance of this album should not be labeled as Brilliant.

Barbra's album featured tons of celebrities on it. Look at her last solo albums sales and then make a comment

68,000 copies in its first week. You tried

Ehh she's had more successful ones as well. She did 180k and debuted at #1 just 6 years ago. (Love is the Answer)

Not here to start a long argument. I just wouldn't call this performance brilliant and I don't see Madonna debuting with "brilliant" sales again with how the music industry is going now.

And 3 years ago Madonna also sold 350k.

180K of those sales were give aways.

The people who drag Gaga will make the excuse that this is a different time in the music industry, that albums don't sell as much. They use this to explain away Madonna's low entries. Then they'll go and trash Gaga saying that when Madonna was on her 3rd album, she was selling yadda, yadda, yadda. It's either a changed industry or it isn't. What's considered a smash 30 years ago, is not what's considered a smash today.

It's said that people had to pay for those with their ticket(s), that they weren't free.
