Wow! Thanks everyone, I wasn't expecting so many responses! I appreciate the help. I just bought the "Born This Way" album, and am loving it so far. I have always had a deep appreciation for excellent vocals of any musical style. After the Oscars a co-worker of mine told me how amazing her voice is. I didn't look up her performance right away, but I did buy  the album "The Fame". I really enjoy The Fame. Every song is good in my opinion.  After I started listening to her I looked up her Oscar performance and I must say it was very amazing. Ever since then I have been obsessed with her music.

Music needs more than good vocals though, I tried listening to other artists the internet recommended, like nikki minaj, Britney Spears, and a few others. I guess there are a few songs I liked by those artists, but I didn't like them enough to put them on my phone. I could be very very wrong about this, but I feel like most of the pop artists I listened to were just singers. There is nothing wrong with that, but Lady Gaga has a great voice and so much more. I don't know much about Gaga but I would be willing to bet that she has been in to music her whole life and I would also be willing to bet that she can play an instrument of some sort. I also feel like she might have been classically trained, or a self taught prodigy. The other artists just felt so bland to me. This is my opinion of course and I mean no offense in any way to anyone.

Are there any other artists you guys might recommend? If anyone is curious, my favorite artist is Tarja Turunen, and my favorite song by her is called Anteroom of death. Thanks again for the awesome responses to my question.

I need to add that when I said the other artists are just singers, I am purely speaking about  their albums. I know they are all amazing performers. My only problem with the others I tried out was that they just had great vocals but on a generic beat. Nothing interesting going on musically in their songs except the vocals.

did you listen to the fame monster? thats her best album to date

it only contains 8 tracks

also listen to her unreleased stuff

You're right! Gaga taught herself how to play piano at age 4 and received classical training after that (vocals & piano respectively) and she also picked up on guitar/bass during touring with her band.

I'd recommend Marina & The Diamonds because she has really clever sort of tongue-in-cheek lyrics about pop culture and human behviour and I love her vocal color!

Check out her live TV and festival performances and you'll fall in love even more! She's an amazing vocalist and performer.

Plus, almost every song has its own acoustic version with a completely different feel and aura around it, I'd recommend watching her old acoustic performances from 2009!

Tarja Turunen is amazing. Gaga loves ALL genres of music, she used to strip to metal songs with her friend Lady Starlight.

Check this out

maybe someday we get real rock album.

Marry the night, Judas, Electric chapel, Heavy metal lover. BTW the whole album tbh

I would recommend MANiCURE (it isn't metal but it's good rock), You and I and The Edge Of Glory (since everyone loves it)

:woohoo: Welcome to Gaga Daily! I'm so excited you've been enjoying Born This Way- it's a really great album. One thing I've found is all of Gaga's albums are very different from her others, and within the albums the songs are also very unique. It's nice to see a diverse artist out there, because a lot of the time even really good artists get stuck with songs that kindof sound the same.

Thanks for the recommendations for artists guys I'll definitely check them out. And for everyone that said judas, you guys were dead on! Judas is incredible. I didn't realize I could only like 20 posts per day. I will definitely like the rest of the amazing replies tomorrow.  I am new to forums in general so I'm not sure how to quote someone yet, but what amen vodka said about teaching herself piano at 4 years old is insanely cool. That's quite a task for anyone to take on let alone a 4 year old. Most of the artists I listen to have been classically trained, so I was almost positive Lady Gaga was as well. I have played the piano longer than I can remember, which is both good and bad for me. On one hand I really understand and appreciate good music, but on the other hand, I have a really hard time enjoying a lot of the music that is popular here in America.  I lived in Finland most of my life and what is popular over there is vastly different from what is popular here. Seems like all it takes in America to make a successful song is a catchy chorus.  Don't get me wrong though, there is a lot of great music coming out of America.

Ahh, that reminds me of when I was a pure metalhead and started adoring Gaga.. I was so cofused tho.. :flop:

Gaga's music was always really rock/metal influenced and she has a lot of metalheads who are huge fans.I'm sure you'll like all her music! :)

I suggest you to check out Björk tho.. She is such a genius and her voice is the most unique I have ever heard..

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Can someone find good videos from Born This Way Ball? Some songs sound a bit weak on the album imo but much better live, like Bad Kids.

And the Queen is good.

I would love a metal album from Gaga, but I think she should do the genres that inspire her at any given moment.   I would also love an acoustic piano ballad album.  I think she will excel at anything she decides to do.

I have also been into metal for more than 20 years, and there are too many great artists to list and I'm sure you already know them.

I live outside the space time continuum.
