DanMonster 185
I would want her to be everywhere but not too much that the public gets sick of her half way through the era. I would love if we only got one or two main singles and maybe one or two snippets of other songs rather than 3/4 of the album before it comes out. CaliLilMonster 476
Any way Gaga want's to do it, just as long as there's no leaks.
StrawberryBlond 14,881
Definitely blackout promo. While I don't want her to do a surprise (and/or free) release (don't think these really help in the long run and the public don't remember them as well), I think keeping quiet until shortly just before the release is better. Doesn't allow people to get too overhyped, makes them more likely to buy. Don't overload us with details, we can find out for ourselves. I don't want her doing the ARTPOP route of performing a bunch of new songs and releasing several promo singles before the album's even out. I prefer the old school approach to album listening - hearing the first two official singles, then listening to the complete thing once it's released. I don't like this hearing bits and pieces approach in the run up to release. It can let the public hear too much and they can hear something they don't like and decide not to buy and it ruins the surprise for fans. By the time I heard ARTPOP when it got officially released, I'd already heard half of it. It didn't feel like a complete album to me, especially as I'd already heard all the best ones previously. Which was another mistake - releasing the best songs pre-album.I also hope she starts promoting properly outside the US again. There was no UK performance of Applause, which was ridiculous. 2 performances of DWUW (solo) plus a promo single was all we got. It was no wonder ARTPOP barely reached gold status here. I agree with everything you say The UK had iTunes festival though which is where she performed Applause after its release but I agree it was not a good way to do promo. Especially since some of the songs sounded more underwhelming on the album than they did then eg MANiCURE
Bradley 59,172
BobbyPromo: anything that he deems is good for Gaga, I'm on for it. It won't necessarily be an old way of promoting, it can be new ways
Stephen 30,426
How about a traditional promotional strategy? One that extends over a long period time like the Cheek to Cheek promo.
Dorothy Gale 7,575
I just want relevant promo. No muppet specials to perform songs from an album about s-x and d--gs.
Whispering 18,865
Whatever Gaga and her team feel is right for the album, era and the time it is released.i just hope that Interscope gets their **** together soon. They've been a mess since Jimmy left, and even when he was backing out...which was before the ARTPOP era. Its obvious that some of their pull with radio and with promo spots left with him.
