Yeah I live in Spain and she has had the occasional radio hit here but that's about it, people don't go crazy over her like in the US. I'm Italian though and I don't think she's ever had a real hit there. Europe hasn't properly embraced her yet.

Oh you live in Spain :fan: Yeah, the same thing happens here in Portugal. But I don't think she'll ever be big around here. It's not like she has what it takes to be interesting and talked about.

I'm bumping this thread for Tay Tay's performance tonight !! It's what I'm the most excited for tbh. And her outfit(s) !

I won't be able to watch it live (I live in Europe and I don't want to stay up super late) but I CAN'T WAIT to watch it tomorrow morning !! I'm sure it's gonna be amazing

I hated SIO when I first listened to it and saw the music video tbh. It seemed like such a disappointment compared to Red. But after a few more listens, it is a grower. I like it, but I hope the other album tracks are better. They won't be like her earlier material because you can tell she's trying to change her style, but I would just like something more personal. Maybe SIO was just to catch everyone's attention? Idk lol

I mean going back and listening to her previous sound the switch is obvious from the melodies, production and style. I feel she was country up to Speak Now and then she experimented with pop while making Red.

Since it made her commercially successful she's ditching country I guess this was indicated by the sound of Shake It Off and her description of 1989 as her first official pop album.

I miss her country vibe tbh she should've sticked to it and try to evolve it. I was hoping this album's sound was similar to the slaying sound of Safe&Sound but I guess not. It's cause pop is too messy nowadays.

If she wanted to get out of her comfort zone Pop isn't the route cause anyone can sing pop now a days, it's evolving what you have that counts IMO.

Thoughts? I'm still gonna check out 1998 though :)

I don't mind an artist experimenting with a new genre. But I mean.. why would you go from country to basic pop? :rip: I just wish she would've chosen an interesting direction instead of something so expected.

Haroon

I think she does both well  I'm very into Trouble and Red and We Are Never Getting Back Together, but my favourite songs by her are Love Story, You Belong With Me, and Crazier :music: Can't wait to see what her new album will bring :excited:

She was always a rather pop-oriented country, never fully fully country; a touch of commercialism was always in there. As for me, I haven't heard enough pop Taylor to judge. Red was my favourite album of hers so far though, so I'm probably going to end up saying pop :rip:
