Even the most devoted fan must admit there's been a big change in her music from pure, sweet country/pop to commercialized pop music.  What happened to her just playing guitar and singing about personal stuff?  It's like now she's trying to change her music just to compete with Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus.  I know some will defend her as saying "She's maturing" or "She's growing as an artist", but did she really need a big image, sound and change in musical direction?  She did just fine as a country/pop artist.  There's been a big change from "Tim McGraw" and "Teardrops On My Guitar" in comparison to "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Shake It Off".

Great. I'd expect nothing else from a pop song that was obviously made to be a safe radio hit.

Miranda Sings

Can't she just do what she wants? She's an artist, she can make her own choices. If this is the direction she wants to go in, let her.

I think that because she worked so well as a country artist, it has to be her decision to go into pop, something I respect and personally like.

Redstreak

It's been a natural progression even from her first album. Accusing her of being a sell out for shifting to pop is another subtle reminder that people don't take pop seriously enough.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Country music overall is just as commercial and formulaic as pop.

All Swift ever had "personal" to sing about was break-ups, it was starting to get boring.

The way pop has been struggling the last year, it's not like she's jumping on a bandwagon.
