I think it's good. Hopefully it gets released early 2016 though, right after AHS, so she can still ride the hype a bit.

First of all, I stand by what I said. I don't like the shape Gaga's career is taking. She is becoming a Barbra Streisand or Better Middler-kind of personality, not a pop star, and not because she wants to, but because her label wants her to. And after all, she is still in her 20s, so this shouldn't be happening.

Secondly, I am not simply talking about clothes and style. I am talking about music and creativity. If you read the article, this 'cleansing' is clearly calculated and manufacture -- that's a fact. C2C, the Oscars, all of it. In the process, she will for sure lose many of her fans, gain some, but lose many more.

I liked Gaga because she was raw, authentic, strange and even weird. That's what made her appealing to me and so many of her fans.

Gaga is doing what she wants to do. If she didn't want to do jazz, she wouldn't have been talking about making that album for over three years now. (And about making a follow up jazz album in the next year) She was asked six months ago if she would do the Oscars. She didn't have to accept the invitation, she wanted to perform there. There is no way Gaga is going to agree to an entire jazz era or a commitment that took months of preparation, unless it was something she really wanted to do. These choices were hers!

This is Gaga just as much as the Pop girl or the raw artist at SXSW. If you don't like this new stage in her career, you don't have to stick around. No one is making you stay a fan.

If she needs time for new record, it's ok. I can wait until 2016. But I want one more single from ARTPOP. Aura, ARTPOP or Gypsy. Maybe I'm minority, but I like Fashion, too.

I'm kinda glad, this way she can take her time to prepare.
And of course, she is always busy so it's not like we have to wait 'cuz she is sitting on the porch playing banjoes.

at least we could get youtube recordings of that :laughga:

There is no way that Interscope is "forcing" Gaga to do jazz or show tunes.   It's not even in their best financial interest to do that.   Gaga has a varied music background and WANTED to do this stuff.  She's not playing typical pop star games and not following the "accepted" pop star career path.  Because she's not just a pop star.. she has options that others do not.

And seriously, whats wrong with Gaga wanting to be more Barbara and Liza than Madonna?   She's been a theater brat her whole life, this is hardly surprising.

what people need to realize is that gaga's latest musical ventures have been up to par with her talents. other pop stars stay in their path because it matches all they can do. but gaga is so multi facetted, literally no other pop star could give a perfect rendition of sound of music and then cover 4 non blondes in an equally appropriate way that did justice to both. shes finally being respected and i think people comparing her to striesand or a liza is GREAT. people see the legendary potential in her. some people just want her to stay basic.......

and by the way, rock IS POP MUSICCCC. rock invented pop music. even the jazz standards shes singing now paved the landscape for what we hear now, albeit todays mainstream music is terrible.....

I don't mind having to wait. But the length between albums could create an expectation for the music to be really good and if GaGa doesn't deliver, it could be problematic - ARTPOP 2.0. Also, I think 2016 will be big for the release of albums by popstars such as Katy Perry, One Direction, etc. and will create that "who's song is better, who's album is better?" comparison thing again.

honestly at this point, i think people have quickly grown to respect gaga a lot more, the same cannot be said about the aforementioned people in your post, that unfortunately gaga is seen as a competitor against, which is unfair because none of them are on her level. im hopeful that gagas music is gonna take a much bigger leap forward and no one will have to worry about such ridiculous comparisons to her contemporaries who write tween bops....

Not surprising, I'm kinda glad though. Between new music from Florence and Madonna; tours from Madonna, Shania, and possibly Florence; and starting grad school in the fall; my funds are stretched to the limit this year

This news sort of pleases me actually.

2015 has been a really great year for her thus far. She's won a Grammy, stunned the world with one of the most gorgeous performances of all time (yes, I went there - it was stunning) & has re-invented herself in a unique way by doing American Horror Story. She's touring Cheek To Cheek and is doing really well at that. She's got everybody talking, but the conversation is totally different to what it's been previously - she's exposing a new side to her, and she's doing it perfectly. Once she drops that Pop Album (I'd guess she'd be dropping the lead single around awards season time next year ;)), there's going to be no stopping her. Not to forget her possible collaboration with G. Moroder - that'll be amazing as well.

All is well.

I'm not surprised, it was pretty much expected we wouldn't get anything this year.
