I don't know what about us makes us different and able to enjoy this album for the awesome art that it is, but I'm so thankful. Best to date for sure, but better is coming. aaronyoji 2,054 Posted February 26, 2015 Share Posted February 26, 2015 neither, it was a solid record with highs and some lows. honestly she doesnt really have any albums that are the best or worst in any category, sure in the world of gaga, born this way is her best album, but overall, her artistry has not reached "amazing" or advanced proficient in the bigger scope of music. While I enjoyed The Fame and Fame Monster during my early college days, I never really bought in and I lost interest by Born this Way. It was ARTPOP that made me invest my time in Lady Gaga. I don't think its a competition. If you imagine Gaga's career like a blank canvas, with each song, album and era she is slowly painting that canvas and it all created one beautiful masterpiece. I find it very hard when someone asks me my favourite Gaga song, because I love them all and they are all relevant. However, this being said, over the years I do think Gaga's work progresses and her music and lyrics gets more complex and creative. I listen to most of ARTPOP too, all the songs are catchy, colorful, and fun - and dark. TFM I don't listen to, BTW I didn't really get into, and TF had really the 4 chart-toppers plus a couple other okay songs. The only thing is I do find the lyrical content on ARTPOP to not be my favorite - though that is even changing as I am understanding more the point of the album and what it's really about... I don't understand how someone can prefer The Fame over ARTPOP. Like, beside the amazing singles, the other tracks are pretty meh. This. Everyone seems to give The Fame a free pass because it sold so much. A lot of the tracks are pretty forgettable. Most of The Fame doesn't even sound like a Lady Gaga album. I love ARTPOP and personally it's my favorite album to listen to. I think the melodies and instrumentals are definitely the strongest of all her albums, but ARTPOP really falls short when it comes to the lyrics. A lot of them are very vacuous and shallow, which really affects the quality, in my opinion. So I think in that respect, BTW is the best album overall.
