Worst. Apart from the epicness that is Do What U Want, Gypsy and Venus, ARTPOP is a terrible album. First, it has no REAL concept or message. I mean the album is literally structured like this: Sex, Sex, Sex, Sex, Drugs, Sex, ARTPOP, Sex, Clothing, Clothing, Drugs, Love, Fame. I know we all have our own unique taste in music, but damn, I can't at the people saying this album changed their lives.

Second, it's a collection of thrown away beats, samples, and LYRICS. I know that some of her more qualitive discography might have one or two songs that have a sample or purchased beat, but not the majority. Usually her songs are crafted from some form of originally. Because of this it feels so ingenue as a BODY of work. No shade at the intimate tracks (Dope and Gypsy)

The truth of the matter is, was her managment and record label wanted to manifest and design her next blockbuster album. In result they caused her to royally piss off not only her fans but the public, and have one of the biggest setbacks in her career. Didn't help she was a d--g addict back then. The try hard and reek of bull**** was real on this album.

If Gaga wasn't the talented, brilliant, visual artist she is I wouldn't feel this way. I do however respect the opinions of those who love it, I just agree one bit.

Well I disagree.

- I prefer ARTPOP's concept (An explosive celebration of art and love? Count me in!)

- I do understand how it could feel less coherent lyrics-wise, but the sound of the album is coherent enough to make up for it

- It does have some mediocre/forgettable songs (Jewels N' Drugs, Fashion!), but so does The Fame (Money Honey, The Fame, Paper Gangsta, Disco Heaven, etc.)

oh and I think that both albums have fantastic hooks  definitely one of Gaga's biggest strengths

Ehh, that concept doesn't really apply to the actual music on ARTPOP, it was more the stuff she talked about during the era. As an album it's quite directionless, which means the weaker tracks are just sitting there like deers in headlights. There's really no thematic justification for having a song like Donatella or Fashion being on the album, but fair enough though :)

I don't find those songs on The Fame weak (Paper Gangsta especially is amazing and one of her coolest songs) but even if I did I wouldn't have an issue with them being on the album cause they tie in perfectly with the concept and are substantial lyrically. It just has a level of perfectionism, intelligence and focus to it that all her work had in the early days

I think we all can agree ARTPOP production is much cleaner and than BTW.

Well, I don't know. It might be "cleaner" but to me it also sounds hollow or soulless. I'm not sure how to elaborate on that. It just feels like it needs more, I guess. Sounds incomplete.

Whereas BTW might have been noisy, the full on production gave it a more exciting, epic feel.

Yes they can. It's called QUALITIES of songs. Not everything about a song can be opinionized? :lmao:

So you mean to tell me that you think theres a factual answer which Lady Gaga album is best and worse?  :sharon:

Can you read?

Right. There isn't a solid answer to the best or worst, but music is based mostly on its qualities and characteristics that enable it to be bad or good, and subjectiveness is a pinch of that.

Idk if you're serious or joking though.  :awkney:

Can anyone else speak up to this and tell this person that an opinion on which album is better IS SUBJECTIVE? Because they're telling me that its not subjective and factual and starting a fight about it.

Worst,

And can you remove the neither option coz it doesn't make sense at all. Lol.

It makes sense though... "Is it her best or worst album" is the question. People have the opinion that it is neither worst or best. Thus, the "neither" option. :awkney:

Aside from Venus, GUY, and Applause the album is trash

Though I will add that Aura (demo) and DWUW (fanmade version with Ross Kelly and Aguilera), and Brooklyn Nights are brilliant, but they never made it to the final cut so I can't factor them into my judgment of ARTPOP
