Isn't the point of being an artist expressing your feelings and your thoughts tho? You can't really do that with someone else's words

Try telling that to Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Strisand,  Liza Minnelli, to name but a few. It's not always the writing that matters it's the interpretation of the singer. Some of the greatest and most emotional songs ever written were never sung by the writers.

"I will always love you" was written by Dolly Parton but the only version people talk about as being a classic is Whitney Huston

Well I never liked those artists anyway   All these were incredibly talented people but imo nothing more than that

Whether you like them or not is irrelevant if gaga achieves a fraction of what they and many others have done she will be doing well and as a writer she is average, certainly very hit and miss and mostly works with other writers anyway.

However your comments just show that you have no understanding of the relationship between great song writers and great singers.

Yeah, I really don't care who writes the songs as long as I like them.

I take it you're not a Cheek to Cheek or Tony Bennett fan?

Kesha does write all of her music tho

Yes I know that, but apparently Dr. Luke had major control over her and her music, so I assume her songs were heavily changed from her original ideas

Let's say her songs would be the same

I became a fan when I heard The Fame Monster. I had no idea who her producers were, that she wrote her own songs, I had never seen her perform! And yet, when I heard the full album, I fell in love. So, to be fair, if she sounded the same and didn't write her songs, I'd still love her music.

We can know tho.. RedOne said that Gaga writes all the lyrics and most of the melody too.

And when you are expressing your feelings with other people's words then you are just a singer not an artist imo

You're so wrong oh my god :smh:

This. Who ****ing cares who wrote it as long as it's good? People are such pricks about stuff like that and act like they can write a better song than someone who writes for another artist.

Ladey Gagz

Sure why not :laughga: An artist writing their music doesn't make a difference to me as long as I like the song  I'm a big fan of Rihanna and she doesn't write her own songs, I care more about the actual music and performances and music videos and so on

Agreed

And I became a fan of Gaga before I knew she wrote her music so

Yes, it does not matter, she have dozens other talents that she can show and brag.

In the beginning of time,

All pop singers were mainly just sings and entertain.

And seldom writing their own songs.

And that is no matter at all.

Whitney never write her own songs.

Aretha Franklin biggest hit was not a song written by herself.

And they are still legends cos they can sing, they are gifted.

Which why I hold highest respect to Beyonce and Rihanna cos they sings well.

The fact that Gaga and few others could do aong writings only give them more perks because they will able to get bigger income from songs royalties they wrote.

What I dont like are label made "singers" or "rappers".

But from what I know through the years, these people usually gone by itself and never heard again.

Nature selection, you see.
