DIVA 666
Born This Way shaped me and my closest friends in countless ways. Both the music and the message were perfect for the times, and in my opinion, have defined this fanbase more than any other album Gaga has released. From the songs, to the videos, to the fashion, Born This Way was a tsunami of wonder, extravagance, rawness, freedom and acceptance. That album actually changed lives. We're all Stronger Together! Guest
Born This Way is a huge part of my life that will live on in me forever. But it isn't depressing, very nostalgic, but not depressing. ARTPOP was great and by the looks of it, Gaga is about to get big again and release a great new album. This this this I'm so excited for the next album
Miranda Sings 1,705
Why would I get depressed? BTW is a fantastic album, and I have nothing but amazing memories from that era that fill me with happiness
Klou 2,414
It was nice, but the Madonna/Express Yourself comparisons really dampened the excitement.
Guest
I have been on a Born This Way kick for the past week or so, and I've really fallen in love with the album all over again.
Spyro 8,438
It was nice, but the Madonna/Express Yourself comparisons really dampened the excitement. This :( It felt like when the single dropped I was getting on the rollercoaster. When the song dropped you're about to go up a huge hill, then when the Madonna comparisons came along, you realized the rollercoaster went down a two-foot tall hill. Danny Boy 0
BTW will be forever epic. The music, the era, the promo, the tour
Ellie Goulding 8
Yes, any thought of the BTW era makes me depressed.
Psychedelic 1,098
Born This Way was truly bigger than life. It wasn't just an album, it was a lifestyle. I connected to that album like I never connected to a piece of music ever before. It truly was the most honest and raw piece of art that defined me. It was nice, but the Madonna/Express Yourself comparisons really dampened the excitement. Not as a true fan, it felt great being a Gaga fan back then, that's the main point of this thread... eff what the media, gp and casual fans percieved! Same. If Gaga didn't care, I didn't care. The music was so empowering, it made me feel invincible. Later on, when Gaga started to crumble and get hurt by the negativity was when everything changed.
