TEANUS 15,091
There are a lot of fan "YAAAAAAAAAS"s , but it's easy to see that the GP has commented and they are beginning to respect her and call her a legend :cry:It's kinda sad it took her to have a lowcut dress, lots of makeup an a spray tan for them to "like" her again. She looked better in 2012 when everyone literally despised her and every celeb felt the need to shade her for relevance lol. But I hope they respect her art more, idc if they love her or even like her, just respect her That's not what this is about at all.......they're crediting her now because of her performances/ appearances the last couple of days showcasing her real voice.... PopBitch 1,218
Who is this GP that love her again? Another segment of the GP loves her off of Cheek2Cheek, older segment. . But does the younger GP that abandoned her after BTW or after ARTPOP love her again? We won't know until a new album. The segment everybody has been b---hing about, the GP that bought her earlier records and gave her huge sales and aren't around now are not the Cheek2Cheek GP. They are a younger GP, that loved her original songs. All of my friends in their 20s and 30s who loved her earlier music and went to a concert or two, what you would consider the general public, general fan, lost interest in her, whether it be because of her newer music, her shtick got old, her preachiness during BTW or a combination, whatever. None of them care about Tony Bennett and standards. So are you talking about the GP over 40, over 50, over 60 who don't like her original music or looks? Do they matter as far as her next album where she needs to get back the younger generation? By younger generation, I mean late teens, twenties, thirties, and even forties that loved her original music and performances but lost interest in her. She has gained a lot of respect for the album in jazz circles and by older people and soccer moms over 40. But that really has nothing to do with the GP she lost from her height of fame to the lower sales and interest. All I hear from that group is they once loved her music and don't love what she's been putting out and wish she would go back to making better music. C2C just shows another side to her that older people like and many hardcore followers and shows another side to her voice. But it doesn't prove she can sing. Because she already did. Gaga for years has been on commercial TV performing acoustic songs, Oprah, Ellen, TV Specials, duets with people like Elton, on and on that showcase her singing and piano playing. The people that matter for sales in her age bracket know she can sing. C2C just proved she can sing beautifully in other ways too, but those people that are impressed always diss her original music. So they aren't important to me.. By the way, I thought she sung the hell out of BTW on the Grammys and had people talking, like my sister who is in her 20s. who was raving about her, saying she didn't realize how amazing of a performer and singer she was. I asked her about the Cheek2Cheek performance. She said it was fine, Gaga looked pretty, not her type of music, and that she thought it would have been so much better if Gaga hadn't been hanging all over Tony, acting all cloyingly, playing it up so much, that it was just distracting. You are over a--lyzing and have missed the point that this post in in regards to one post in the OP. You also forgot that her acoustic performances were interspersed amongst performances with over theatricality and crazy outfits. Her jazz era has been one consistently about the voice. It takes time for people to build up an image of someone.
