T3ARS 4,132
Wow It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. - Audre Lorde

craig 680
mess at the comments saying white people wont like it. lol this is awesome Isn't it like expecting men to like a song that is basically a feminist rant? Is that his typical subject matter? Theme has been done before, and so has the angry rapper thing.

miju 375
Isn't it like expecting men to like a song that is basically a feminist rant? Is that his typical subject matter? Theme has been done before, and so has the angry rapper thing. Is that expectation too out-there? I know many white people are enjoying the song & message it portrays just as men can enjoy a song that's a "feminist rant" if they're in support of the argument in the song. The subject matter & delivery in the song will obviously lead it to not become very popular but does that matter? & if the subject matter is something that is prevelent today in society and is an important issue, then why should it matter if it's been done before? should feminist messages never be put in music again because it's been done before? Or gay rights? & it's honestly funny that you say the "angry rapper" thing has been done before. He's passionate about an issue that plagues his culture and that shows through his emotion in the song. That's like someone saying the "sad singer" thing has been done before after hearing Dope by gaga. If you're trying to refer to a similarity to Eminems typical aggressive form of rapping, well it's been done before and after Eminem by other rappers. Reducing an artists form of delivery to a trend is ludicrous. doseofamnesia. tumblr. com
PopBitch 1,218
I adore Kendrick. What an artist. I am still blown away by his SNL performance a while back. Pure art how he put that together and the rawness of the performance.

This song is a brilliant take on the issue that feels modern for 2015 and is more self-aware than most songs in the past. Kendrick's really the only one delivering this message on such a level
