wow

:worship:

the only thing that I care about is that Chandelier should've gotten either Record or Song of The Year. Sorry but Sam Smith's Stay With Me got old to me very quick and I've only listened to that song like 5 times. I understand why it won so many Grammys, but both Record and Song of the Year ? CHANDELIER deserved at least one Grammy. And talking about that, ARTPOP and 1000 Forms of Fear should've been nominated for Pop Vocal Album instead of Prism and Bangerz, but whatevs.

AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really pissed that Sia did not walk home with at least one grammy last night. Serious outrage.

Stop bringing up the race, it's just dumb at this point

The album with Herbie Hancock on it was a compilation record of various artists. Santana isn't black. As I said above only three black artists have won in the last 20 years. I know this is a pop forum and most of the users on here don't care about this stuff but ask any fan of rap or r&b whether black artists are represented fairly at the Grammys and see what they say. It's common knowledge, black artists speak out about it all the time.

almost half of nominees for  AOTY were black yet you're still talking about race stuff

it's just funny

When did I say anything about nominations? If anything it's more insulting to nominate an amazing album and have it lose to a mediocre-good one.

Regardless of what people think about Beyoncé vs Beck, no one can deny the absurdity of Frank Ocean putting out one of the best and most acclaimed albums of the decade and losing to Mumford & Sons (:rip:), and the exact same thing happened to Kendrick Lamar last year. Neither of them could win Best New Artist either. There's a reason why Macklemore was freaking out and apologizing to everyone for winning over Kendrick, it was absurd and everyone knew it. I'm not saying anything controversial here, again this is common knowledge.

This win was just like that Arcade Fire mess a couple of years ago

Except Arcade Fire beat clearly deserving opposition. Gaga and Eminem dominated album sales, had massive singles, wrote their own songs and raps.

Beyonce needs either the single success of Sasha Fierce or more credibility as a songwriter/producer to have a clear claim of being deserving. She had ONE top ten single, boosted largely by a s-xy controversial video and performance. Her two lead singles were about s-x, typical pop fodder.

AOTY isn't about being a great live act, or dancer, or doing the best marketing rollout.

Blacks artists have been treated generously by the Grammy since 1974, way more AOTY wins relative to other Americans than their percentage of the population. It's true, Grammies voters are anti-rap in big categories (Eminem never won AOTY either). But they are much more anti-pop.

Madonna didn't win a single Grammy the first 15 years of her career,  Britney has 1, Katy has 0. Gaga never got AOTY. Meanwhile Beyonce and Kanye have enough to fill a room each.

I'm actually glad beyonce didn't win anyways. Got to see some grade A+, 5 year old meltdowns.

I believe chart success and popularity should not matter for the AOTY award. I mean, obviously since Beck won it. BEYONCE may not have had chart topping singles but they had a pretty big impact nevertheless. And where did I say that she should have gotten it because she is a great live act, dancer or had the best marketing roll out? She should have gotten it because, no mater what the naysayers say, the album was solid and was a great, refreshing project.

And it's not like I'm pulling this opinion out of my ass because for months people have been predicting the win for either Sam or Beyonce, to the point that it was a toss-up until the awards. And judging by the reactions from press and people alike, almost everybody feels she/they got robbed and is disappointed, just like when The Suburbs won.

who will love me when the night is over

Urgh... love Beyoncé, but it's true.

I didn't really think about this before... huh, you've got a point.

This whole race issue is ridiculous and needs to stop.... RnB/Rap/Hip Hop is overlooked by the Grammy's just as Pop is overlooked....

Beyonce's album just wasn't that great to be deserving of AOTY sorry

To even compare Beyonce to Beck is blasphemy. Beyonce might be an amazing singer, but she doesn't have any semblance of artistry. She's totally bland and uninspiring, I really don't understand the fascination with her.

Kanye should be banned from award shows for at least a whole year, next year. He needs to be taught that he will be respectful or just stay home. He is nowhere near as important as he deems himself and should be set as an example for this bad behavior of his.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
