But in reality Britney isn't respected as an icon. I never heard anyone speak about her highly until I started visiting these pop forums and saw all these people treating her like a legend, it was like stepping into the twilight zone lol. I don't think she's not an icon, she definitely is. Probably a bigger one than Gaga. But I think Gaga has been much more iconic considering everything she's done and is known for. Britney revived teen pop and was known as one of the top entertainers of the early 2000s, she had many iconic performances including her performances at 2000,2001 and 2003 VMA awards. her generation of pop girls were copy cats and the following one were anti-Britneys.
