PopBitch 1,218
I agree with the part about him desperately trying to make the news again by hanging out with the younger artists these days.I don't think it's trying to make the news. I think he is just still creating and trying new things. And younger performers are wanting to work with him. His last album that came out the end of 2013 got really great reviews. The people buying his music are people who love pop rock and rock, not young popfans for the most part. His tour the last two years was massive, playing to stadiums for like three hours, not some 90-minute concert like he could do easily, but doesn't. He plays from his Beatles era and his solo era and his Wings era, which has tons of hits and deep cuts. His setlist was 40 songs. And you see rave reviews of his concert from all age groups. Even little kids are at his concerts with parents. He is still so passionate about music. He came to a private college near where I live, which is so elite, and the college students piled in to see him talk. He didn't have to do that in his busy schedule but was invited and he really shared with the college students studying music about songwriting and the songwriting process and his life as a musician. The guy is 72 years old and out there doing more than young bands.I think he is just still so interested in creating and even collaborating. I think younger performers are probably fun for him. Wow, I think Gaga could really learn from him. I hope she learns a lot from working with him like she did from Tony.

PopBitch 1,218
Wow, I think Gaga could really learn from him. I hope she learns a lot from working with him like she did from Tony.If anything, as with Tony, from Paul and talking to him maybe she will learn to have a thicker skin. I only have a few Beatles albums (their later ones) and one McCartney and one Lennon album, but I've been reading up on them. They are revered, but the Beatles breakup was not pretty. And everywhere I would read an article you (can you believe it) still have fans fighting over who was the genius and the creative force in the group. Lennon and McCartney are considered one of the best songwriting teams ever. But the comments are vicious. McCartney is called egotistical and Lennon the brilliance and others call McCartney the brilliance, on and on, and how McCartney and his egomaniac control ended the Beatles or others say it was Yoko Ono. Lennon brought her in the studio and wanted to make her a member of the band. LOL They were a mess. It's fascinating reading, but it's so funny to me how people bash the members fighting for their favorite. Then Paul created Wings and put his wife on stage with him and had huge backlash and cruelty towards her. He's been through it all. I think he, like Bennett, can help Gaga become stronger emotionally. I read an article that when the Beatles really ended, Paul went into a massive depression. He couldn't get out of bed and it went on for months, drinking. His wife finally kicked his ass and made him get going again. He did. Out of it eventually came a hugely successful post Beatles album with his band, Wings, Band on the Run. He survived and went on to a successful post-Beatles career.I think Gaga has let the industry get to her. The Beatles were allowed to create. I loved reading about their creative process on their later albums. They were the masters of their destiny musicwise as far as songwriters. They were never really controlled, more like nurtured. Their problem came after years being together and personality and ego clashes and burnout and d--gs for Lennon. But that's what Gaga needs to get back to, which is what was defeating her, trying to make too many people happy in the studio and label and even fans and listening to the noise trying to take her down, crappy articles. She needs to learn to collaborate and not have all yes people, but she shouldn't be controlled and stifled as an artist. The Beatles music changed drastically at times and whoever followed followed and whoever didn't like it trailed off.
PopBitch 1,218
Only if they had let the light in and come to know how amazing Gaga's voice is right now...Rock fans would not be talking about a Jazz standards album. They are talking about original songwriting and style of music she writes and puts out on her own. I doubt they care about what she does with Tony. Most people know Gaga can sing. She's done a ton of stripped back performances on TV before Cheek 2 Cheek even. If someone insists she can't sing, who cares? They are wrong. You can't control the internet and anonymous posters. Ronk 14,762
Hopefully people like the cynical & ignorant commenters will start waking up to reality soon, seeing people deny her talent is getting old Very true. Unfortunately they don't care if Gaga has talent, they just want to hate and don't even need a reason. I live outside the space time continuum. djBuffoon 12,120
That is true. Anyone that mentions "Artflop" is either a pop stan or a Gaga hater overall. The general public has no idea that ARTPOP "flopped" by the media's standards. They just bopped to Applause and DWUW during their singles runs and that's as far as they know about the ARTPOP era. Tell that to the people who are all "the g.p. hated ARTPOP".
