Lord. Just shut up. My god. Who cares about Russell Brand? Its Katy's song, sure it's a song deeply rooted to him and their divorce; but to say that she owes him in any type of way she uses the song? No

 

I'm not saying she doesn't have the right to use it any way she wants, she wrote it from her experiences, it's hers. But I feel like songs shouldn't have their meaning changed just to promote a message that suits Katy. If she wanted to make a statement about it, she should have written a new one that applies to that situation. I don't think it's fair on Russell Brand to give the wrong impression by using a song that is KNOWN to be about him for domestic violence, because it comes across as a serious allegation, even though she merely would have intended to use it as a way of representing other survivors.

who knew katy would steal the show with a ballad. yes she sounded bad but it was still the moment of the night :rip: genius move too

The vocals were okay, but I actually appreciate that she didn't rely on huge props to make it seem like there was a lot going on. Nice work.
