yASSsss 35,510
Billboad just posted an article about Katy's Prism era(which was totally Unnecessary). "In a half-century, I'm unlikely to plop my grandchild on my knee and say in an old-timey voice, "I remember when Katy Perry's Prism was the talk of the town!" Prism is not an epochal pop release, especially when one remembers the claims of cultural appropriation, the hammy "Birthday" video and the regretful RiFF RaFF remix that were included in its promotional cycle. But that's the point: even a flawed Katy Perry release has been bulldozing, another comfortable victory to follow a blowout win. Perry has once again slapped commercial stratospheres that other artists would kill to graze, and when she takes the Super Bowl stage next month, she'll have plenty of reasons to roar." Retep 0
Even after reading the article I still think a lot of mistakes were made by her team during the era overall, it started out great but lost so much momentum from that point on really. Granted she's still successful, there's no doubt, but it still pales in comparison to TD and wouldn't have as much of a fighting chance without the SB performance which could still harm her to an extent if she doesn't deliver (i.e. awful vocals or blatant lip syncing). ByeBye49 161
I still prefer Teenage Dream.

xoxo cupcakke 4,781
Screech* AH! Even after reading the article I still think a lot of mistakes were made by her team during the era overall, it started out great but lost so much momentum from that point on really. Koreku 2,387
The era went great but then they released birthday and TIHWD instead of WOA and LL and it makes me think ha team wasn't even trying after Dark Horse. You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.
Bio 23,538
Prism - more than 3,5 million sold Roar & Dark Horse - two #1 singles around the world Unc. & Birthday - two Top 20 singles around the world Prismatic World Tour - on track to be one of the most successful tour by a female artist Numbers don't lie. This era may not have been as successful as Teenage Dream but it only lost to 1989 if you take a look at the past 2 years in pop music.

Haroon 49,685
I agree It didn't (or hasn't yet at least anyway) have ground-breaking success like Teenage Dream did by the end of its era, but PRISM stood its ground more than well enough Two songs that were extremely successful and a spectacular world tour that is doing very well are not things to be disregarded
