2015 Oscar Nominations

For months there have been reports of how ****ty everything is at DreamWorks, they can't sell it, stock is going down, creatively they are in the pits, and here comes this Oscar nomination that has a lot of potential to save them and it's only real competitor, that everybody has been raving for a year, does not get a nomination. Weird :sis:

But I was just kidding and I'm just pressed as **** right now. And no, I'm don't think anybody bought the nomination

Even if great movies like Lego and The Book of Life got snubbed I still think it'd be unfair to choose a winner, they were all amazing and everyone put so much effort in it. The production for Boxtrolls, Big Hero 6's storytelling, the animation in Dragons 2, the beautiful visuals in Song of the Sea, Princess Kaguya's stunning style. It's really a though decision and sadly the voters don't care for animation like they demonstrated last year voting for Frozen because they didn't bother to watch the other nominees :sis: It'd be kinda predictable if Disney or Dreamworks won but I think I'll be happy with any result like at the Golden Globes since all the nominees deserve it to an extent.

Crap year IMO. And where are all the women? Also Jennifer Aniston deserved a nomination more than Meryl Streep

Haters gonna need more than a flashlight for my shade

Yeah, each of the nominated movies have their thing going for them, but sadly only one can win. And again, Lego Movie has been praised for months and months, and there were even rumors about it getting nominated for Production Design, so it's really sad to see it only nominated for Best Song, where I don't think it's going to win, when it also could have gotten a nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Oh well.

And I though Frozen really deserved that win though

irked that Johnny Depp didn't get any recognition for his role as The Wolf in Into The Woods

imo he was the only negative point of the movie

who will love me when the night is over

Yup, really unfair :fat: maybe it's all because they treat animation as kids movies so they don't really bother at all

+ It's REALLY weird since it had amazing success and was critically acclaimed  idek what goes through their minds lel

Frozen won over Studio Ghibli's The Wind Rises and it won because voters didn't bother to watch other movies so I don't think it's really fair :fat: maybe I'll be a bit biased if I also include The Croods because it had really great visuals and a good story  but to each their own.

Also pretty pressed at Bennett Miller's nomination edging out Fincher, and "Gone Girl" and "Nightcrawler" should have been nominated for Best Picture, in the place of Selma at least (even though there's room for 10 regardless. Gyllenhaal should be in Carell's Best Actor position.

Yayyy Bradley Cooper is nominated !!! Again !!!! I haven't watched most of the films nominated but I'll try to watch them before the ceremony.

I really think Bradley deserves an Oscar. I was very disappointed when he got basically nothing for Silver Linings Playbook. This movie is a masterpiece and he's brilliant in it :crossed:

Whispering

I love Depp, but his portrayal was not his best performance. There were several other actors in that movie that brought much more to their roles. I was looking forward to his role and it was pretty much disappointing. Maybe he couldn't do all that he wanted with the role, due to the constraints of Disney?

Shocked that McConaughey isn't nominated for Insterstellar :duck:

This... and the movie itself is being paid dust... I didn't think it deserved at all to win but at least a nom!

It's always movies that nobody sees :madge:
