Remus 54
This is the Gaga album that has lots of tracks that I don't like or not sticking with me (Gypsy, MANiCURE, DWUW, Applause) and seemed far too complex to me, so I get what you're saying with "soulless". The diversity of the genres on it just smudged the Art and Pop theme which makes it not cohesive. Overall, it's not a bad album, but a record that quickly faded on me. Tommy Monster 846
Completely agree, BTW was such a dark album. I felt skulls, death and dark imagery when listening to it, rather than happiness when listening to ARTPOP. Exactly listening to MTN makes you wanna kill yourself haven´t listened to that song in months now...

Aga Gydal 3,158
It's not a big deal that you hate it, just like it's not a big deal if you love it. You're not entitled to her best, she can release whatever the **** she wants to and if you dig it then great, and if you don't then move on. We've become so spoiled now that we expect every single song or album to move us or blow us away but the fact is that we've become so disensitized with pop music that very few things can do that now. Just enjoy things for what they are, appreciate the work that went into it, and if you don't care to listen to it again then try out the 14 kabillion other songs and artists out there. GagaMyBlood95 9,915
When will people realize that BTW isn't overproduced? Do you even know what that means Anyways, ARTPOP slays imo, now then, and it will continue so..
MonsterMum 2,532
Some people like ARTPOP better Some people like BTW better Some people love them both Just giving you a small summary so you don't have to be at each others throat over an opinion. Not like anything you say will make the other person all of the sudden jump sides.
dynamite 59,328
Do you even know what generic means? Mainstream then... Either way I think she started out mainstream and is currently less so with the jazz stuff, which was my original point that I don't believe she's more mainstream than when she started out. I agree with your point that now she is less commercial etc in the first place.. I just don't like how people use the word generic instead of mainstream or radio friendly..Because The Fame's hits are not generic at all

Your reaction implies that it's bad and means crappy cheap pop music or something?? in which case I don't think of The Fame as generic at all lol Like a poem said by a neydy in red

germagaga 22
ARTPOP has better production than Born This Way, but that's literally the only thing it has above BTW. Born This Way is Gaga's strongest, most emotionally honest and aurally unique album to date.
pachinko 10,398
ARTPOP as an album isn't revolutionary. It is FUN to listen to though.
TimisaMonster 31,073
There is a real lack of songs I can "connect" to. There's no Hair or born this way, nor a marry the night. Listening to lyrics advising you to consult your gay friends about spray tans isn't going to cut it. Perhaps that's why, to me anyways, it feels soulless? Although that being said there is some songs you just want to play loud! One of the FIRST pieces of info about ARTPOP she said was the album "lacks maturity" and isn't supposed to be taken TOO seriously...its a lighter album with more fun dance songs... However, Swine, DWUW, Aura, Dope, Gypsy etc show a lot of personal attachment and deep meaning The production, the lyrics, the vocals. I like the concept however it was also badly executed The Aura album version and hearing the change in production after hearing the Swinefest versions make me agree with that...
