"Anyone" can hire a hit maker, but there is probably an extra bit of pride knowing a song you personally wrote (or co-wrote) is smashing the radio (or even charting). Even if it's a silly light dance bop, it's personalized with the artists own words. It puts a piece of the artist in the music.

What's weird is that y'all forget nicki releases these kinda singles too and they don't get much airplay except for right thru me which got some on the rap stations... Y'all always jump to songs like stupid hoe which wasn't even a real single it was a promotional single. Sure anaconda might be stupid too but how can you blame her? She releases what she knows will sell, if she released songs like save me, buy a heart she wouldn't be as succesful as she is today.

I just think she has a bad attitude which is reflected both in the quote this thread is about and her 'mid-tempo' songs. It's all "I'm so much better than anybody else, people are mean to me and it's unjust."
